I know the bellicose isnt that great of a ship, however i am dead set on using one. That being said, whats a decent gang setup that utilizes its target painting bonus? Being in a gang support role, i wouldnt worry too much about its dps, so more of a decent target painting ship that has decent tank. And i know it doesnt matter much, but would arty's or AC be better in its high's? Thanks for the input all.

3x Heavy Launchers
2x 280mm Art

1x Target Painter
1x Web
1x 20k Scram
1x (insert any thing) MWD or Tracking Disrupter for me

2x Med Armor Reps
1x Cap Power Relay

5x Small Drones

Fits well in a suport role, or as a frig swatter. Just watch out for those 8k a sec crows like every one else Rolling Eyes.

Would it be viable to drop one of the MAR's maybe for an EANM or damage control? Firstly, i doubt i will have the cap to run both MAR's and secondly, without any resistance boost, if i get hit, i doubt the two mar's will help much.

If you got a Phoenix buddy who wants to shoot some BSes with you... 4x TP II, rest doesn't matter.

For a BS support role i would fit:

3x 180s/220s
2x assualts

1x large extender
2x TP
1x web

1x damage control
2x sensor amp

Hopefully this gets you enough range to stay with the BSs, if not sub a TP for a sensor booster. Idea is all you protect them from is drones/frigates who get close, warp out if anything big locks you. While the BSes are safe you light up the primary and secondary.

Thats probably a more viable setup for me, something to utilize the TP's bonus as well as being in a support role.

Used one to gank goon indies for a while, found it didn't have enough firepower.

This was before HAMs.

Used...

3x AC, 2x Heavys
MWD, Sensor Booster, 20km, web
Light Tank in Lows.

Didn't like it all that much but it works in a pinch.

3 Heavy Launchers
2 TP, 1 LExtender, 1 mwd
BCUs or speed mods really

If you get shot in this ship, you will either be killing it fast (frigs) or trying to run from it (BSes)...thus the not bothering with much of a tank.

Ok im sure this setup probbaly sucks but i was wondering how would it fare in a gang.

3x 620 arty's, 2x assault launchers
1x TP, 2x web, 1x scram
3x gyros

I know its paper thin, but i was wondering if it had at least decent damage output. The thing is, if i get targeted, im gonna die anyway even with a tank, so i was debating on an all out damage/target painter setup with the assaults to counter frigs. (this being in a gang of course)
Critiques welcome (and im sure there will be alot)

Double web and scram on an arty setup? Thats kind of silly. With arty i wouldn't bother with tackle, its not like you are a Huginn. AC and tackle or arty and range.

Bellicose with 2 Target Painter II and 2 Webs. All ows are speed mods so you get get clsoe to targers.

Get into a battle stop and painta BS.. call a Dread to warp at 100 km.... repeat... repeat... (and YES a BS with 2 90% web and 2 target paint 2 with max bellicose bonus and max skil improvments is a VERY easy target for a siege Drednaught). A couple of dreads can jump to support a fleet and turn teh tide of battle with this tactic.

im enjoying being very anti-tackler with:

3 x D180mm, 2 med nos
MWD, 20k, web, TP
3 nanos, RCU

3 valk IIs, 2 warrior IIs

took on a vaga and 2 sabres in this ship (not solo, they were shooting my mate in a ferox)

I popped the first sabre fast, set drones on the 2nd sabre and went for the vaga, got in his path, set up going in front f him, web, scram, drones, guns, nos... dead vaga. allmost killed me tho lol

I have been running this ship for weeks, but upgraded to arbitrator.
My "out the ass" drone build:
3 heavy missiles
2 drone link augmentors.

2 sensor boosters.
1 omnidirectional tracking computer
1 drone navigation computer

2 EANM
1 medium repper. Sit at 100km and be an ******* to frigs and inty's in fleet battles! ;)

ECM Boat:

3 heavy missiles (I use missile skills mostly - do what you will)
2 Medium NOS - I never used to use these, but have since using the arbi fallen in love with them ;)

1 sensor damp
2 ecm of choice (I use Multispec II and a racial - i know most of my enemies are minmatar ships)
1 sensor booster

same again for low slots (i usually used the same stuff).

5 light ecm drones.
3 warrior I's - i always go for speed above all else with drones on a belli for those damned inty's.

I used this in an anti-pirate gang 2 days ago and watched a vagabond mwding all over the place trying to shake the drones - was funny as hell ;)

i love the bellicose because i would call it a "fun ship" like the previous build, you can really use stuff noone ever uses on it. The idea in a belli is - not to get hit ;) warp away if targetted, come back and use as much ridiculous range as you can - that's my advice.

Edit: PS Don't use the target painter it's fkn useless.

Go to the turret and or missile guide look up your average frigate and your heavy missiles. Set all the current values to be correct and it will tell you how much damage you lose for that particular sized target. Now use the ingame calculator (I dont have any of this in front of me - but this is what I did) and work out the % difference in size your average target painter makes including the bellicose bonus.

You find it's something like 50-60% less damage and the tp makes about 10-13% size difference to that. (From long memory when I worked this out myself). And overall damage I think I worked out you did about 13 more damage with the TP on a t1 frig.

I am not going to argue that if you went level 5 minmatar cruisers and level 5 signature focusing that this bonus would be better.

However I would argue that if you went level 5 minmatar cruisers and flew a bellicose and then went level 5 signature focusing - your problems are probably far worse than anything I can print here will fix anyhow ;)

RR.
