Hi, I was mining in Nonni today when a certain character came up to my miner and started ramming me. And he kept ramming me, driving me away from my asteroids, until i got fed up. I fired a warning shot to get him to stop (naive of me) and he quite quickly opened fire, and blew up my ship.

I was angry.

But I got revenge- after the aggression timer wore off, I took a hauler, and I went to a field and found a cargo container he owned. He was waiting right by it. He knnew what I wanted to do.

What did I do?

I clicked dock with a station, and right at the last moment before I warped, I took everything- around a hundred thousand units of Nocxium. And I sold it. And i got lots of money. And I did it again, with another container. And then once more, so I had taken around 20mil worth of Nocxium- enough to buy my Cormorant back several times over.

Was my action justified? I don't know. If a GM believes I did wrong, I'll take any punishment. But I want to know what the players have to say.

Emptying the can as you enter warp is the standard practice of a competent ore thief. It's hardly an exploit or anything.

Well, something else I thought I'd talk about... a few players heard me yelling at the guy over local, so they challenged me to steal 100 uranium rounds from a crate, with two battleships, a cruiser, and a carrier guarding it- and i used my Badger Very Happy

Long story short: I won.
Long story long: I won fair and square.

You might be full of it, or mistaking nocx for something else.
1. Nocxium is a min, not an ore, why would someone be sitting in a low sec belt with that much nocx? He wouldn't!
2. 100k units of nocx is worth 30-40 mil, you did multiple runs.

Bait.

And he admits to that in the OP.

Congrats on the haul, and remember low-sec has little room for fools who worry about what's "fair."

Contrary to what some people beleive, stealing, killing, and looting other players is perfectly legit in eve!

Justified...who cares!

In those situations, it is up to the player/s effected to sort it out. Unlike other MMOS, scamming and theft are allowed and even encouraged. Personally I love it. A nice creative use of game mechanics, which isn't, for once, and exploit or borderline exploit.

Thanks. I really had no idea how people would respond. First off, the guy wasn't using the Nocxium as bait- he essentially stole it off somebody who was hauling it to another system, getting them to shoot him by continually bumping them away from the gate, then wasting them with his Raptor. And yeah, it took multiple runs, but the guy had a Raptor and really didn't have any way to haul it off or anything. He got angry when I said, 'I just took a couple mil from your corp'. He got really angry when I stole more out from under his nose. It was great.

I really hate the bumping exploit.

But now I have no miner, so I have to wait for Frigates 4 and Cruisers 1 to train so I can buy an Osprey.

Oh well. Methinks I can supplement my income. This idiot's corp has pods all over.

Bumping a ship is not an exploit. In many cases it can be considered harassement if it is done over and over for an extended period of time in a situation where no legal figthing can occur.

You cant just shoot at people in high sec unless they have stolen from your can already, or are at war with you, or something.

This is just to clear some things up, in case you are not 100% familiar with the game rules. I know your story was true and accurate, but I detected that you might not know some of the above info clearly, so I'm posting it just to make sure you know.

Lies. If it was a Carrier, you were in low-sec and they would have blown you up on sight (no need for kill rights).

I think you misunderstand. They challenged me as a sort of test, just to see how well I'd do. One player dropped a can with the ammo, they all got positioned, and said they would not fire or do anything until I took the stuff. Now, I have no idea if they would have killed me or not had they caught me, but I figured it would be worth the thrill Very Happy

We actually had ~20 people watch.

Also, if someone does this to me a lot, where do I report it?

Oh, and can I say who this is I screwed over?
