It is IF you have lots of SPs and a very expensive faction fit ship to do it in......

General idea is to kill the 1st wave a.s.a.p. then focus on the gate..... Make sure you have both explosive and thermal missiles.... Prolyl best to be using Torps too for this one so as to do max dmg to the gate..... let yer drones take out the frigs..... I did it solo some time back... not been offered it in some time now tho...

I have 13mil SP and I fly a domi with all-t2 tank: 2 x LAR II, 2 x exp II, 1 kin & 1 therm II, and EANM II. Resists are 68 77 73 73 with armor comp skills at 3. Also had a cap booster to sustain the two reps. This is the strongest tank I've ever had on a domi, it is easily about to tank just about every other mission out there. I tried this mission with my brother in an all-t2 fitted exequiror repping me, and I almost lost my ship. I got out in hull after the second wave. I warped in, immediately set to work on the first wave, and before I had even killed the frigs, the second wave came in. I tanked them long enough to kill one of the BSs, and then while I was waiting for my ogres to come back I got into hull and had to warp out. I repped, came back, and by that point, the 3rd and 4th waves had spawned. I immediately warped to a planet that was about 15 degrees off my nose, and in the 10 - 15 seconds it took to align, even with both reps going and my brother repping me, I got down to 20% hull. They insta-agro, and the DPS is INSANE. Considering that stargate has like 200k hitpoints in structure, I don't see how anybody could solo this mission without spending billions on a faction CNR and having about 3x as many SP as me. In the future if I try this mission again, it will be with 2 or 3 other battleships to help.

One trick i know is they start to span when you accept the mission, so it's ok if you are in the same system but you lose enough time to have the 2nd wave incoming if you need to jump another system.
That said you can wait after DT and take all your time to jump into mission as the timer will start only when you jump in.

As far as i have tryed alone, i get into mission after DT and running in the opposite direction of the incoming npc while killing them and not getting aggro from the 4-5th wave.
As i was killing the last bs they decided to not chased me anymore and got back to their initial spawn point, then aggro the last 2 waves who were sitting still. I could just kill the cruisers and fregates before leaving and asking for friendly help ^^, i don't remember the last bs's names but they were tanking like hell and doing a lot of damage.

Ive done this a few times in your normal T2 fitted raven. No faction stuff.
i do have +30mill SP witch might help.
The first time i screwed up, i was to slow. i didnt know they spawn on a timer (reading mission notes 4tw i guess). I did manage to do it at the end, get in, kill one ship, warp out. Reapeat. took time, but i did it.

The second time, knowing they spawn AT THE GATE (<-this is a key thing) and on a timer i did this:
As soon as i got in, i started to travel away from the gate. Kill as many BS as you can as fast as possible. Now travling away made this possible, after a little time they spawn and are out of my range and most of thier missies dont hit.
This gives you time to kill thier faster ship that can make into range. The BS will also slowly maket into range. Kill stuff as they get in your range.
I belive (bug or not) the last spawn didnt even target me at all, they wre 275km away.
This is a cheap way, but it did work for me.

This mission use to be even harder then it is now. It was fix in REV.
It use to start spawning the waves as soon as you accepted the mission. Now the waves don't start to spawn until you get into the pocket.

There are only 3 ways of doing this mission, 1 is the way listed above. Warp in and run away from the gate killing them 1 by 1 until all ships are done. This takes forever to do this way and even when you have killed all the ships, you have to deal with the Gate and it's huge HP.

Way number two is the fastest way. Bring 2 or 3 friends and all shoot the gate, or have 1 guy kill the waves while the rest shoot the gate. The Gate will go down the fastest this way.

The 3rd way is the Hardest way and requires a lot of tank and ISK. The faction tank on a CNR way. 94% Primary damage resist thanks to faction hardeners and a Gist B, X type shield booster will allow you to focus only on the gate and tank the waves until the gates pops.
