I doubt I'm the first to bring this mission up... but just.... what the heck were they thinking?

"Let's make an L3 mission where you have to pop a control tower under fire from a dozen torp-shooting BSs and then warp out"

"That sounds good, grossly overloading 85% kinetic resist tanks and ensuring the death of anyone in a T1 ship below a BS sounds appropriate for a L3"

"Okay, now let's add a big fence at warp-in so that people get stuck and can't warp out."

"That's pretty evil, but I think we can improve on it somehow, hmmm..."

"Oooh, I know, we'll add a big frig swarm at warp-in too, so that when they get stuck on the fence and can't warp out, they can't get their can either! They'll have to eat a total loss on their ship!"

"Genius!"

"And we'll give it a reward worth a quarter of the fetch storyline missions that take 5 minutes, and put it at the end of a really long chain!"

"Now we're cooking with evil!"

I just can't conceive of a rational thought process that creates something like this, unless it's possibly "we need more ISK sinks in the economy".

It's been said before, and I'm going to say it again. Rewards are dynamic. Mission rewards are based on the average speed it takes to complete, and it gets changed at downtime. If the reward is low, it must be because most people finish the mission really fast.

Furthermore, the main point behind storyline missions is the faction standing increase, not the reward at the end of the mission.

And that standing increase is nice for the Angel Strike chain.

I got 3 implants from the tower last time I did this mission. One was the 3%rof implant. Sold it for 75million. I was a happy newbster to say the least.

Yep, it's really worth it to bookmark the last stage, complete the mission then come back for the can the tower has dropped.

U can do this mission in an assault frig.

I solo'd it and killed all the battleships in a Retribution. I have screenshots of proof if someone can tell me where to host them.

4 x Med Pulse II Conflagration Crystals

1 x AB II

1 x SAR II
1 x Energized Thermal Membrane II
1 x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
1 x Local Cap Relay
1 x Heat Sink II

I think thats was the fitting. All fitting skills are to 5 inc AWU plus a 5% reduction in turret cpu hardwiring.

This was against blood raiders. Take the frigs out quickly with scorch crystals the rest with conflagration. Takes a while but is doable if you keep transversal up. Then can kill the buildings and loot in your own time. Loot was rubbish from the BS's but bounties were nice.

Next time, don't shoot the control tower first and aggro everything. That is classified as "a bloody stupid idea". So, let's go step by step how to do the mission.

1) Get in your normal lvl3 mobile. Hitpoint based tank is best.
2) Warp in to last level of said mission.
3) Kill ships around warp-in.
4) Move sensible distance away from fence, ensuring there is nothing to get stuck on, then align.
5) Fire on and destroy Control Tower (if your tank sucks, may take 2-3 warp-outs).
6) Bookmark can from Control Tower.
7) Warp out
8) Visit agent, complete mission
9) Warp back to Control Tower can, grab the cool implant.

As a 3 month old noob who flys a tech 2 fitted Raven, I gotta ad something. All the guides I've read are really good, but the one thing not mentioned very often(I just learned last week) is what one of the recent posters just said and that I need to really emphasize for other noobs like me that like to do kill missions: the swarms are often seperate and will not all attack (aggro) you unless you attack all of them. In other words, visually identify your swarms, they usually look like clumps of enemys. When you enter a room, first align. Then target the nearest bad guy and shoot. Wait to see who starts shooting back (red outline, not yellow). Shoot the guys shooting at you. If you shoot guys that are not shooting at you in a swarm, you'll trigger that swarm to aggro you. If all the swarms attack you (full aggro) it could be due to one of the following mistakes you made: you hit a missile battery, you released drones, you hit a "spy" (i.e Angel Spy"), you hit more than one swarm, you hit a boss (save "named" big ships for last). Bringing a friend will often cause a room to aggro too. Don't forget, that just because two or more different targets are the same distance from you doesn't mean they're in the same swarm of bad guys. Fly VFR (visual flight rules) and look at your swarms. Hitting one bad guy in a swarm will usually cause the whole swarm to attack...or the whole room. If you're getting attacked by more than one swarm, warp out and try to figure out what you did wrong. But don't confuse this with the normal attack of very powerful single swarms in Angels 10/10. And don't forget to align first or the 15 seconds to align to your warp-out point will feel like 1000 years right before you turn into a LLP (lonely little pod)! (been there done that...more than once) The greatest resource for kill mission runners is eveinfo.com missions data base. I checked it. Your Angel 10/10 mission dps (damage per second) in the final stage is very high...much more than my average level 4 missions. Always check dps for the mission at hand at eveinfo and fit your ship to harden for the damage types. The bounty for the final swarm in Angel's 10/10 is high. I'd probably fit one invuln hardener and 2 kinetic hardeners to tank the 700+ dps kinetic. Oh, and my Gist X-type XL shield booster might help too =).

I just did this mission in my Myrmidon. I just didn't start shooting at the control tower until I was well within weapons range. Popped it in about 5 seconds and took off no sweat.

If you fly a good HAC it's very easy to just clear the whole stage. A decently equipped BS can also just kill everything without any trouble, it's not as hard as the fleets you'll face in L4 missions.

QFT, though doing the mission in an AF I haven't had any need to align or warp out. Plenty of time to destroy the tower, grab the can, clean my nails, taunt the oncoming ships a little, and exit stage left.

A lot of the time when I end up asking that question about a mission, it turns out the proper question should have been, "What was I thinking?". Wink I believe all the information is there to complete the mission successfully the first time. It's just not quite as spoonfed as most missions are.

For reference, see also the bajillion Worlds Collide L1 and Human Cattle P5 threads here. Very Happy

This is the best L3 storyline by far! The rewards for clearing that final level are excellent. It's actually harder/better than a lot of L4 missions. If you can't handle it (and I couldn't on my first attempt) just warp in, get in range of the tower (NPCs don't attack you on sight) and take it out (a few salvos should do it). If that leaves you a bit far from the cargo container warp out. When you warp back in the NPCs will ignore you so you can just grab the stuff and leave.

I never even took damage doing that in my Apoc.

honestly, wtf?

the last room of part 10 is extremely easy. there is a group of BC's cruisers and firg on you when you warp into the 3rd room, and then some BC's and intys ontop of the control tower.

kill the first spawn, fly towards the control tower, kill the second. launch drones, have them hit the control tower first. they take aggro from the bas groups approx 75km from you at this point. loot the control tower for a +3 implant, then warp out.

tbh, when you pop the control tower you shouldnt even take hits from the BS spawns until you're almost warped, or gone.

there is nothing hard about this mission, nothing at all. and if you have the skills / bs / friends to help you, the bs spawns give some decent bounties and loot.

ontop of the +3 implant in the tower, you get some other implant as reward, and a few million credits as bonus. and a boatload of standing.

I can't speak for the OP, but when I did it, there was an easy spawn (only one with frigates) around the warp-in, and then there were 2 spawns, each of 4-6 BSs and a bunch of cruiser support each about 80km away, who you didn't actually have to kill, just tank long enough.

'twas my favorite storyline mission when I was a newbie. I just went directly to the church/whatever, blasted it to smithereens, grabbed the loot and ran at half structure or so.

Yeah. In the l3 just before Christmas it was a bunch of cruisers and three groups of three battleships.

In the end I got over 15mil in bounties, an implant worth 22mil and agent payout of 3mil in total. Plus the faction standing.

That's what I call a bloody good reward.
