I don't know how foreign degrees are ranked...

Let me post how it works in Belgium:

High School = 18+ education, which will yield you a bachelor degree after 3 years of studying
University = 18+ education, which will yield you a bachelor degree after 2 or 3 years, and a master degree after 4 or 5 years. However, nobody quits university after getting a bachelor degree because it's worth almost nothing (like an incomplete education).

That said: I just got my master degree in sociology at Gent University in Belgium.

That's kind of weird, I think most ppl in the US stop after BS.

I'd like to go back to get my MS someday, but in my current field (Mechanical Engineering), it's highly unlikely I'd get much of a pay raise out of it.

I'd earn more money Having my BS in Mechanical Engineering (From University at Buffalo) coupled with an MBA instead of MS in Mechanical Engineering... Confused

I'm not interested in an MBA, or being in a management position...
