Is there any reason some ships (like the Leviathan, Corvus and Storm) aren't showing up at all?

The Corvus and Storm haven't been added, and I'm not sure about the Leviathan. Unfortunately I'm in the middle of a very long rewrite of it so it'll be a while until a new version is released.

"Anyone else had problems with vista loading this??"

The viewer utilizes rather advanced version of openGL and Vista out of the box supports only earlier version of openGL if i understand right... some of the graphics card drivers from card vendors don't fully support openGL in Vista yet, either... so that could cause the problems you're experiencing (in particular with ATI cards)

By default Vista only supports OpenGL 1.4 which is layered over DirectX. This version of OpenGL doesn't support fragment programs so you'll need a driver from ATI/NVIDIA that does. I believe Microsoft has specifically chosen OpenGL 1.4 instead of a later version to cripple it, and if it hadn't have been for the outcry that happened, Microsoft would have succeeded in killing OpenGL.

I have no intent on making the program run on Vista, if it works for you great, if not, too bad.

As for the change notes, there won't actually be much new. The biggest thing is that I might be able to finally load the station interiors.

Hi

I like Showroom very much but there's one thing I would like to have in there.
If I want to view a specific ship in the viewer I have to circle through all the other ships until my ship appears.
It would be very nice to have the functionality to load a spcific ship by its name. Maybe through the command box by writing the name in it or with an additional window with a list of all ships in it where you can choose the one you like to see.

Is there anyway to import these models into Maya/Alias/3dsMax?

You need the TriExporter thread.

Nice job on this tool elFarto; it's a huge help to mod'ers out there :) Congrats on your continuing work.

This is not a criticism of the tool, rather that some of CCP's modeling is really craptastic...

On ships like the Typhoon (mb1), the materials are out of order in the .blue file, versus what is correct on the model. Mammoth is another one. Blackbird and Macharial have lost their texture coordinates altogether! Using your ship showcase, elFarto, or using the TriExporter tool to add textures and export to .obj gives a model with the entire texturepage applied ("tiled") to every single polygon pair on the model. Yuck. Obviously, these ships look fine in-game, so something is missing or misplaced that we haven't found yet to correctly texture, export, or view these particular ships.

Using the showcase viewer, most minmatar ships render with a very dark background and camera.

Finally, anyone noticed the tiny white sphere out in front of the Condor?

Links worked for me today.

This app is great. Maybe CCP will pay and integrate it into the EVE client where it belongs.

Kudos ElFarto.

First, thanks for this app :D Second: is there a way to show the ships without the shadows or eliminate any source light?

Nope, my account has been cancelled for a while, and I'm currently waiting for the new version of OpenGL to be released before I continue working on it/learning OpenGL.

(I'm posting this on CCP's 5 day trial thingy :))

awesome porgram, but why are some of the ships in such a dark background?

I wish there was a line scale where you could zoom out to max to see the big ships and then all the way to close as possible for the lil ships, cause I can not do mouse wheel enough to go from any real size difference

Hi,

loved your tool so much, I used output of it in my (first) new movie.

Very nice effect of showing the ships we fly without backgrounds and stuff.

Thx put you in the credits, keep up the good work!

The download link isn't working - I assume its likely in connection with Mr. Elfarto being away from the game and letting the link slip. Any possibility someone else could host it? I can't find it on eve-files.

Of course, I could just have a strange internet connection. It's being temperamental as of late.

This program needs a key on the keyboard to zoom in and out, or maybe zoom in and out like in the game, holding right and left buttons.

And the lights are not good one some ships..
nice work tho

Well, the program looks quite good... But is it true that it only shows the classic models?

And I'd like to ask for something like a graphical user interface... And maybe the ability to jump straight to a model by it's ShowInfo-number...
