The coercer.

How do you feel this ship stacks up against the other destroyers? It gets a -10% to turret cap use per level where as the Cormorant gets a 10% bonus to optimal range, the Thrasher gets a 5% bonus to damage, and the Catalyst gets a 10% bonus to falloff.

What do you do with the capacitor that you save on your coercer? You get 4 lowslots and 1 mid. I usually either put a web or an afterburner in that midslot. Can't fit 8 beams. I know I can fit 8 dual light pulses (t2) without an RCU.

Only reason I'm bringing the topic up is because I saw some other topics about cormorants and thrashers uber sniping stuff and popping ships in 1 - 2 volleys. So is there anyone that uses the coercer to do cool stuff?

thrasher is best destroyer by far but ur not asking that ugh

the coercer gets an uber leet pg, slot layout, capacitor.

use the -50% laser bonus to the full and stick a mwd on that thing and it goes about 1500mps for about 8 cycles without engi skills

use it with pulseVery Happy

So I've done a bit more digging and pretty much the comparison people make with the coercer is summed up best as a pet owners "bulldog" that shouldn't leave their side. Run up quick and pummel with pulse.

Or is that not the best strategy?

And yeah, the Coercer's alright as long as it's in a gang. Not much fun on its own.

I think the guys sig got things a bit distracted =P

The max range I get with beams is no where near as cool as it is with railguns. So is it a consensus to stick pulses on the coercer?

8x Medium Pulse I

1x 1MN Afterburner I

2x EANM I
1x Collateral Adaptive Nano Plating
1x RCU I

Definitely not a solo ship at all. Get about 50+% resist to all of them, EM and Therm being higher than kin/exp of course. If the coercer is supposed to be something that runs up to you and bites your face off (in comparison to the other destroyers where sniping is fun ((objective statement))), does this do it well? My setup, and I've tested a few different ones going pulse and going beam, dual lights etc., does not take advantage of the -10% cap use per level of the energy turrets.

How do you take advantage of that bonus on the coercer?
