Yeah like Goths are manic depressive Punks and Emos are Goths with borderline personality disorders.

At least they don't wear Teletubby knapsacks...God club kids were the worse.

Neutral

And chavs are emos only more chavvy and with less crying and less girl clothes.

Emos and goths/punks/metallers generally dont mix- at least in this country. they generally are hated more than chavs and police, and for Northern Ireland thats a big thing Wink

Dude, it's not that, it's the hair, make-up and love of the colour black. Very Happy

Although emo girls can be hot (mmmm stripey tights).

Emo's are the worst form of 'rockers'. They give 'rockers' a bad name. Evil or Very Mad

Emo. a fad even goths can pour scorn on.

from what Ive picked up, emo seems to me to be just a bunch of angst-ridden brats who have borrowed mummy's eyeliner, and want to slit thier wrists because it's cool.

(though I can't really comment on the daft hairstyles. I remember us having pink mohawks, even worse fringes, and enough aquanet and backcombing to destroy the ozone layer in the 80's...)

Someone should teach them that vertical cuts are much cooler. it'll reduce the numbers quickly enough.

the line between goth dressing and emo dressing is thin (some might say non-existant). Female clothes push over the line

And the pic of the guy(s) in the dress was for a halloween party and it was pretty funny .. so *)$^$ what if people believe it makes them emo because they know they arent Neutral

There is a big difference between actually wearing girls clothes regularly (like tops, jeans etc) and doing it now and again for a laugh.

I hate the current emo sterotyping. Im a punk, y'see, so have the whole shaggy hair, long fringe thing going. I put on a ska band shirt, such as Less Than Jake or Goldfinger and I get called emo for having shaggy hair and listening to depressing music. Only difference is, I dont cry about nothing, I dont have the ****ty dyed black grease-ridden fringe and I dont listen to depressing music. The lyrics are mainly about cheering up. Its just because alot (maybe 40%) of emo bands are just ska bands with their horn section junked. Damn that viscious cycle and the selling out ska bands. Sad

Erm... no?

please. don;t associate goths with the floppy-haired whiners. our trannies are usually so well dressed you can't tell their gender. goths are positive, tend to be much older, and with careers, and a life. we learn to disguise our lifestyles for day-to-day work, and only come out for the weekends. you'd be rather shocked at how many doctors, vets, accountants, and librarians are goths outside work clothes.

< /rant >
ahem.
sorry. that generalisation always gets me narked.

and I hope the links work. one pic yoinked from a friend's website, and one of my ex in her corsets, and both sum up nicely that goth style has nothing to do with those tasteless whiney emo kids in look.

don;t even get me started on the "why goth is'nt depressing" rant. it's the most positive social scene I've ever encountered.
