I've never actually put a bounty on someone, so you'll have to forgive my ignorance here somewhat.

The idea is simple: When a bounty is podded, those who placed isk on his or her head recieve an mail detailing the claimant, weapontype and shiptype, or basically a rundown of the original killmail.

This makes it a simple matter for those individuals to congratulate the bounty hunter, and potentially to choose to reward him or her directly in a way that the normal system cannot without risking premature claims.

You'd all rather just give the pirate the money?

Hi Lienzo,

Agreed that problem is the pirate getting the money. However, bounty hunters are not going to be all that motivated to hunt targets based on a reward which is left to subsequent judgment of the bounty payer. Bounty payer also will still have trouble under your proposal knowing whether the hunter is in cahoots with the target to share the reward. For effective bounty reform proposal which both pirates and carebears can agree to see ArrowBOUNTY REFORM: Payout Cap at Value of Destroyed Property.)
