Why do other players feel it is needed to attach other players in low sec security zones for no reason other than destroy the ship and pod people? We all pay real life money to play this game. I find it very bad game dynamics that other players can attack you with out a reason more than that they want to do that.

I think implemnting a flag or a setting that says I want to perticipate in PVP would be a great addition to the game. Instead of the current settings, which means half of the space and the game would be limited to me because I do not like to PVP.

I can not go to low sec zones and kill high end NPC's becuase a player will attack me even if I am not doing anything to them.

What you all think?

Maybe later, I'll give you a good, full, long explanation. But for now, I like Viceroy's way of putting things.

Damn, I feel bad already. So fine, I'll give you the short version.

PVP is the central element in EVE. If you absolutely do not want to participate in PVP, you can stay in an NPC corp (no war declarations) and never leave highsec empire.

If you want to participate in other parts of the game, you have to submit to the risk of PVP. That's the price you pay for going into lowsec or 0.0. Furthermore, a lot of elements of the game absolutely require non-consensual PVP, which means that allowing a "Don't Shoot Me" button would ruin them. Pirating would be dead. Claiming 0.0 territory and defending it would be dead. Hell, the simple nervousness of flying around lowsec/0.0 alone would be gone, because there's no possibility of being ambushed.

In the future, if you have any other n00b questions, please post them in the EVE New Citizens Q&A forum.

Been discussed over and over. Forget about it. If you don't want to PVP, stick to systems rated 0.5+ and make money however you want or can.

i think you should uninstall EVE right now , why?

because this is the game you bought, eve, full of risk, reward, adventure.

you want carebear land? go play a carebear game. eve is not a carebear game.

do you even know what low sec mean? LOW SECURITY, you need to be able to defend yourself thru wits, knowlede, and might.

and evidantally you have little of all these atm.

just do like the rest of us. Use only frigs as they are mostly untouchable by npc BS and cruisers.

When a PVPer warps in try to dock or simply wiat. Preventing them form getting the addrenaline by remaning obvious to there attacks is as fun to me as them getting it.

And after two or 3 cruiser you have payed out your frig and you clone so you won't even loose a dime! Just find a freind or two so those Ebil NPC die faster.

Oh! and when making the jump to try to load a few modules and sell them in those barren station HECK i make money of the AMMO I sell by overloading my frig

welcome to human nature... I could explain more, but it's not needed really.

There is no-where in Eve that is safe, even 1.0 security is not a gurantee of your safety, you can be podded there, you can be hunted to death anywhere... However, "low Security Space Systems" are exactly that. The do exactly what they say on the tin. Rens might well be New York, 1880... but Anamake next door is Dodge City. there is no law but that of the gun, or those who enforce their territory.

Eve is all about PVP. to change the inherent nature of Eve in such a way is akin to taking Counter-Strike, and removing the guns because people might get gibbed.

PS. expect to be nicely toasted by the flames to come.

I think you're talking poop. I don't PvP unless I'm attacked, and quite happily go ratting in .4 and lower.

You've just gotta get to know who's who in the area and keep an eye on local. And get ready to warp out if red or orange appear in your overview.

If you're lucky you'll find a quiet system just one or two jumps from empire and not see a soul in local for hours.

One, you need to join a non-nuub corp that plays in 0.0. Two, if everything was consensual this would be nothing more than EQ2 in space......and I loathe EQ2 and that kind of crap. If you don't want to be attacked in 0.0 then you need to get in a corp that plays there and everyone who is +5 to your corp will not attack you (well majority of the time anywaysRolling Eyes ). This is what we would call a "carebear" argument. This is not SWG where you have to "declare". If ya want that kind of play you are in the wrong game let me tell ya. That's the thing....if you want to enjoy the high payoff and resources of 0.0 then you have to work for it and keep on your toes. That is pretty much why there is 1.0 to 0.0 space.....the higher the security of the system, the less likey you will get podded....and also the the lower the sec of space the higher the payoff of resources/rats etc. You have to work for your high payouts. Sorry for sounding kind of harsh but that's the facts 'mam. This game is too unique to be spoiled by carebear mentality of other games....thats why I play this game and left all the others.

Consensual PVP would be the worst thing that could happen to eve. As pointed out stay in high and you will be just fine (well 99.9% fine, no where is completely safe, even if in a noob corp)

Let's limit all PvP to Singularity. All ships are free. No podding or wrecking shots allowed, must only play with lights on, parental discretion is advised.

In other news, strip miner sales are booming!

EVE is all about pvp, competiton, risk vs. reward. You can't get a no pvp flag, because then you would have the stuff for free that's meant as a reward for the winners of the competition or people who bear a high risk. You can't introduce a no-pvp flag without ruining the whole game. And if your not interested in the rewards that people get as pvp / high risk rewards like better mins, better belt rats etc., then there is also no point in wanting access to all system.

Otherwise the systems are all the same. One sun, some planets, moons, belts, some stations. Nothing special. Wink

Killing people is fun. If you dont want PvP you best go elsewhere you picked the wrong game, everything about Eve revolves around PvP and has done for 3 years.
