Hi

Have read the stacking penalties sticky and am still unsure:

Different types of guns use different types of upgrades - so gyrostabs for projectiles and magstabs for hybrid and heatsinks for lasers. Tracking computers and tracking enhancers are general, right?

If so, what's the deal with stacking them?

I.e. which is better overall (either by cumulative effect or minimised stacking penalty):

a) one of each type
b) a couple of one and one of another (if so which ones)?
c) all one type (if so which one)?

about the a, b, c. To get the best effect you'll have to stack 3 (I don't know whats most efficient)

about setups in general as you'll be using them for diffrent purposes
if you want daamge take the gyro stabs
Also depends alot of what your gonna be shooting at
If your gonna be shooting at battleships you don't need the tracking, smaller ships you will though, if you wanna snipe then tracking comps would be best.
really depends on what you want to do

I sort of agree with the above post, but for straight comparison between setups use the table/graph on the last page of the tracking guide here

It shouldnt take you long to try a few comparative setups/ enter the stats into the tables, and see which setup is giving the best results for you.

Depends on your combat technique. If you plan to stand still and/or webb your enemy, fighting targets larger than your guns are meant for, painting your enemy, or in general using high tracking guns like lasers, then you may not want to use tracking modules since your tracking will already be good.

If your tracking suckeh like projectiles, then you will appreciate the value of a tracking module the most.

Its almost always better to mix in a tracking enhancer than to fit 3xdamage mods.

I fly an Ishtar with maxed drone skills against Serpentis primarily.

I swapped out two of my mid-slots for a target painter and a drone tracking mod. The difference was instantly noticeable.
