Was that a really bad pun or unintentional? And if you can play EVE in middle east, I don't see why WoW would be frowned upon unless they don't like fantasy stuff in which case, you'd probably notice by lack of similar books/games |

R31D thought that Aleria meant that wow is frowned upon in middle east, when he actually meant that it is frowned upon among the Eve community. :) Pretty funny. :D And I´m sure you can play WoW in middle east somehow. Cant tell you how though. Send them an email and ask? |

region locked? I guess you'd have to buy a copy of for the Middle East, and pay on their website, if there is one.
And also, we don't mention the 'W' word around here. ¬.¬ |

Are you from UAE? I think the Emirate is one of the nations that are NOT blacklisted by western business as being related to terrorism. There should be a license agreement somewhere, check it to see which countries they accept. Alot of middle eastern nations are prohibited of using online services such as Steam and MMOs, but I know not all of them are. You might be in luck. I believe there is a possibility that Iran is allowed access as well. Your best bet would be if there is a middle eastern version of the games in the stores, but I don't know if you can get genuine games in your country or if the malls are selling counterfit copies in plastic bags with pictures of the original package in them. Good luck! |

the W word is a bad topic here, in order to keep a good standing with gods of EvE... and agents we are required to conduct planetary Bombarments on the WoW inhabitance every firday night |

My friend playes EQ from Bagdad, Iraq every day. YOu may want to contact the game / service provider to see if there is an alternate way to pay for an account. |

ok thanks for the replys
@ Grimwalius d'Antan dont worry we have good relations with the U.S they have a military base here in qatar and we tryed to help out with Katrina by offering 100 million for victims of the Hurricane but i dont think they accepted it. so i dont think were blacklisted and all games here are soild as original copies and %98 of gamers here use steam since counter-strike is the most popular game here but everybody thinks steam sucks for some reason :P.
it's werd that they sell the game here but they wont let you crate an account like everyboady else :(
PS: i well sacrifice some cows hoping that the great powers of EVE will forgive me for my sins |

Did some checking up, and it would seem that the US has not declared a total embargo for UAE like they did to for example Iraq, Libya and Sirya. Your problem was credit card taxing though. To me it would seem a little bit wierd that they would cut you guys off from that, given the potential market. Where exactly does it fail to accept your credit card information? |

Which is all ******ed of you think about it... I can somehow understand that Oracle doesnt want to export to "terrorist" countries, so that Al-Quaeda can't make a database or something (as if open source databases didn't exist), but I find it highly unlikely that running around in a virtual forest whacking virtual wolves with a virtual two-handed mace can serve as training tool for terrorists. But that's just me. |
