Heh, I'm one of those but my situation is a little different. I actually have to work and check EVE about 6 - 10 times a day just to get my fix in.Laughing

I work when I have something to do. I browse the forums when I have down time. Multitasking is easy.

When I'm at home I'm either spending time with the family or playing EVE. Limited playtime means I play, not play and browse forums. Wink

This is me.

Im a network admin, so I sit at my PC all day. In general, most of my work is done when something breaks. If Im doing my job properly, and everything is running smoothly, and no one is breaking anything, then I generally have plenty of spare time to read and post on the forums. Hell, even when stuff is breaking, if I have a minute spare waiting for a phonecall I'll press f5 and check for new posts :P

Im not addicted to the forum, but short of playing games at work, theres nothing else (within reason) that I can do to keep myself amused.

I imagine that most players are male and of those who are employable, probably (as I do) work in IT - so there's often ample opportunity to use a computer sans interuption Exclamation

I used to actually play Eve while at my last job. No such luck at my new place, although the pay is better so it works out ok, hehe.

I held back with the forums for a while until I worked out the guy sitting behind me was whoring the WoW forums all day so now I just go with the flow....Smile

I study computer science, have passed all the exams that students write in the beginning and now it's all up to me when I decide to get the last qualifications and write the final exams. ( New students don't have this freedom. )
Guess I used too much of the time to learn how to play MMORPGs and not how to develop them so far. Laughing

( Since I'm almost broke and the university wants money, the good times are over soon. RL gets me back. Crying or Very sad )

I check the forums at lunch sometimes.

To listen to the IT people in the channels I am in, a lot of em play EVE at work all day.

(EDIT) However in defense of the MMOG "lifestyle" online games taught me how to touch type.

So you don't like your job to much, eh?

I'm wondering what work environment you are all in. I myself am working/commuting 12hrs a day in a bank's headoffice with some 600 people over there. Not one of them would have the time to significantly contribute to a forum, I definitly don't. For me it will become worse in future since I'll step up the ladder some steps will do a lot of travelling around Europe, Middle East and Africa. Then I'll repeatedly hardly be able to log on a forum even after work.

The funny thing is I can play EVE at work, but the forums are blocked by proxy. Rather interesting choice of priorities, eh?

At work, I only play EVE to keep my skills training going. I'm much more of a forum junkie here than when I am at home.

Oh, I installed a modem in my work pc so I can access the forums through a dial-up ISP. It really pays to be the local fix-it guy sometimes.

Sometimes, it really is dial-up ftw. :)

I'm lucky to work in a place where the eve forums are on quota but not totally outright banned. However, posting is banned, so that has to wait in the evenings. I amaze myself by how much I read on those forums - there is always something to learn.

Heh Security Concierge officer here

aka i sit at a desk, issue passes to visitors, make sure noone mucks up then surf these forums when nuthin be happening.

Pity i cant convince the sys admin to install eve on mah work puter, least then i would be able to do the slow stuff (like mining) at work and actually get into pvp when i am at home Twisted Evil

As it is, he had to show me a way to get to the forums without going via the main page since that was blocked about 6 months ago.

anyways back to forum lurking i go :-P

Cool I have that problem at school.... You can use Eve-Search.com and by double clicking on one of the posts after you search it brings you to the forums.... its great

We need to find a method to get all our girlfriends to play EVE. Hell, maybe we convince them it's the best way to spend extra "quality time" with us?
