Okay, I'm fairly new at this pirate thing, still going through the classes on the correct way to scream "yarrrr" and what not. So the other day, I kill some poor sod mining in a belt in a Thorax, then ransom his ass. After I let his pod go I open his can and find some loot, which wasn't really worth all that much. So being the nice guy I am, I went back to station and there he was, so I gave his stuff back.... looking back at it now, i should have just refined it all... anyway, I'm going out on a tagent here...

What I wanna know is, why if I kill someone fair and square, when I take my well earned loot, it counts as stealing? I earned it god damn it! Now this guy can nail me anywhere, including hi sec empire and from what I can tell, it's quite a long time the "kill rights" last for, we're talking a couple hours.

Now I also killed a player in 0.0, which was a better fight, but now she had kill rights on me. I was hardly gonna head back to empire and shop around. There is nothing stopping her from getting a huge gang together and coming to gank my ass in empire where I'm perfectly safe.

I was under the impression that the kill rights was to stop ore theft. Can't we make it from only jettonsined cans that kill rights come up, not loot cans?

I'm only 1 guy...

What you want removed wouldn't do anything, since your victim also get kill rights on you when you destroy their ship. So removing it from the loot cans would make bugger all difference.

I find it helps if you drink heavily whilst playing. After a while, nothing matters. Its great.

I for one really like Kill Rights, as it dampens the whole "pirate one day, L4 mission runner in Jita the next" thing a lot of people seem to have going.

So to the OP, no offense but.. tuff tĄts. Very Happy

I don't mind it too much, I just thought it was from the looting of the can, if it's from blowing the ship up, then it's okay :)

I love this new Jet Can system. Finally you can revenge your loss with no security hit! Player law enforcment to the next lvl 4tw, Smile

This will teach those damn pirates a lesson. Many pirate will be saying:
"I fought the law, and the law won
I fought the law, and the law won"

Well thing is... the whole lone wolf ARRR AVAST DROP YER SAIL thing is all good and fun but there is something they never told about that scene. Namely the guy playing the lone wolf pirate has skills, experience, balls and most likely a given talent for analyzing combat situations.

Course, it's all good fun, this is juts a game. You get blown up then you get a new ship... somehow. That's the fun part of it! There is always a way to survive and in EVE you don't go hungry or need sleep etc so it's double the fun. So, when you decide to break the rules (asfar as there are even rules in EVE) then you pretty much decide to give up any form of protection. Being a wolf pretty means the sheepherder isn't going to look after you no more and you're fair game for anything that has the means to dispose of you.

So grow some big teeth, some nasty claws and that killer instinct, cause where you are going you're going to need it ;-).

Now, a different post the person's ship you just shot up will enable him to kill you without CONCORD protecting you and he'll get no Security hit.

Then if you take the loot he can shoot you, his gang can shoot you, and his corp can shoot you. Imagine this, you kill a newbie in a newbie corp roughly containing 200 members at one time. Then you take the loot, you are now the enemy of that corp because you have potencially stolen that corp's stuff nevermined the victem.

200 noob ships
200 civilian gauss guns doing on average doing 24 hit point damage

200 x 24 = 48000 potencial hit point damage = They will PWNAGE you with the first shot (depending on ship type)

But this is a load of sh!t cause 200 players will most likly not work together and they will probably lag you and themselves out

This is especially true when flying with Ghost Red, I found cholorfoam and valium also made things easier, in an emergency a labotomy is may just do the trick.

I'm sorry?

oh right so you want to be able to shoot people and ransom them and yet they arent allowed some form of retribution?

if you cant live with the consequences, don't be a pirate.
