Last night I did my second LVL 4 mission. I'll admit this game is pretty slow paced, but I think it's realistic and I love it anyway. However, if I had to list the part of the game I hate the most, it's definitely picking up containers. Last night I spent an hour on the mission and half an hour with my cruiser going back to pick up cans. I really hope that the new changes speed that up exponentially, because that really has no gameplay value and really no point. It just plain sucks.

Extending that point further, why can't ore just jump into my cargo hold when I warp into a belt? Mining has no real game play value and just plain sucks.

Our corporation have been telling people just that for so long now. At last, others have seen the light. Cool

I think he's complaining about risk vs time taken to get the reward, so, uh, your analogy is a bit... wrong.

The tractor beam should help. It will have an optimal range of 20km. So, that should speed up things if you use one.

They're coming out with tractor beams in RMR...

I know what you mean. I'm a complex hunter and I spend more time looting with a few ships than I do actually fighting. The tractor beam is going to be a god-send for me.

Option 1 - bm a can at/in one of the waypoints/levels and come back in a frig/fast hauler (probe used to be perfect for this, but it's getting nerfed Crying or Very sad)

2 - don't pick up the cans, you're time is better spent killing more rats, and there's usually crap in 'em anyways.

Suggestion 1 for players: Cargo scanner, use on cans, get what is good.

Suggestion 2 for CCP: Get rid of tech 1, ammo mods and basic loot on all drops on everything everywhere. Make it easier, more productive, and also reduce the junk syndrom alot of MMO's use in dungeons etc.

Going back to sell 50 whiskers makes finding or not finding the super sword no different.

I dont know about the loot post RMR, remember they cleaned up the loot tables. The stuff that gets dropped now will hopefully be worth something

Worst part of better loot is harder NPC.

In the patch notes it says 0.3 rats warp scramble.

What do 0.0 rats do?

Warp scramble, Nos, spin you around 50 times, pat you on the head and then proceed to show you the outside of your pod in all its lovely detail.

Btw does my pod make me look fat?

solution to the problem of loot cans:

in our corp there's always a novice (a trustworth newbie) running the missions with an older player - the vet in an cruiser/bc/bs and the novice in an frig. while the vet kills the rats the newbie loots the cans.

at the end of the mission the vet gets the loot und the newbie gets half of the bountie Very Happy

this works only if both are NOT jerks and/or griefers Cool

bringing newbies along on a level 3 mission is a quick way to determine if they are a) corp theives or greifers etc. Asking them for the loot back ie the splits if they dont agree bam gone from the corp - quick way to flush em out.

Smarter ones might paly for a while but most are opportunistic its a goood way to test. tractor beam works only on youre cans (i can see this working for macro mining killing using hte new systems)

Sitll a lot of cans will have normal loot drops (much less basics but a lot of garbage still) so cargo scanner works to

As for warp scrambling rats well drones - a slot for frig weapon might help barring that bring a corp buddy in a cetpor (still i say it will be rarer spawns) that jam.

Or you can get 2 people

1 in a nano'd and overdriven indy (600-700m/s with AB) and 1 in a nano'd interceptor (1300-1600m/s with AB) makes can clearing very quick and easy

Agreed, I use a nano'ed iteron + cargo scanner + sensor booster / autotargetter and it's sorted - now with a tractor beam, this will pwn lootage YARRRR!!
