Me and a corp mate were thinking, and thought it would be cool if there were capital mining barges. The smallest one would be freighter size, and the largest would be dreadnought sized. Would have plenty of slots for Strip miners and such, although we werent sure what something like this would do to the game economy...

nah, i prefer having to organise a lot of players if you want to mine a lot of minerals. Having one person in a roid-pwn mobile would ruin player intereration. Unless it costs 20bil minimum, then i'd be all for it Very Happy

imagine an alliance with even 10 of these.
Warp to belt, lock roids, warp out from belt with cargos full of roids 1 minute later and no more belt.

i wouldn't say that, just place a restriction on them i.e. operation can only be in .3 or lower space (so same as POS) and this will allow all you loving pirates get a shot at knocking it out. Btw its 3 minutes to a Strip Miner Cycle not 1.

I like thje idea of a capitol barge that strips whole belts. It would give us non-cheaters a change against the macro swarms that attack some belts after downtime.
