Just a thread starter to kinda soundboarding an Idea, I have noticed a disturbing trend which is unless the Newb's are killing something they are not really interested in doing any of the work that is involved in aquiring the materials or equipment to build their ships. What I am proposing is that you have the ability to hire or purchase a guard / miner assist. They would have the most basic of skills and would essentially be an AI Drone (or VR Character) they could assist in mining, guarding detail, or do contract run deliveries. Many of us already do this with multiple accounts that we pay monthly for this ability (AHEM CCP) and I'm sure most of us would love the ability to employ 1-2 Remote Ganged Pilots (the catch we Provide Ships and Equipment and the drone can not use anything we cant this would be a great reason to use the gang modules & expensive as sin skill books) Again just an Idea but maybe a good thought process starter?

this isn't a single player game, perhaps better join a corp, provide protection on one of their mining ops and get your share of the profit

I know it is, and I do belong to a VERY Large corp unfortunatly most of them are not on in the same time slot as myself or are off doing missions / trawling, locating people to mine with is a Pain and by no stretch do I mean for this to be a replacement (hence Base Skills not Equiv to yourself), this way you could always have someone with you, and would open the door to a New type of Drone/AI Skill books etc, on top of double the risk to you as your putting forth the ship and gear, for all you PvPer's out there something new and easy to kill because if the person doesn't gang warp him and his partner out you might get both and the loot... As i said before its a soundingboard not a statement, and no offence but I highly doubt you would come into Empire space and mine Veld with me... BTW IF I SEE ONE MORE BARGE USING STRIP MINING SCRIPT KIDDIE IN 1.0 SPACE I'M GONNA BE SICK come on CCP you know who I'm talking about DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

it isnt a silly idea.

I like it really but dont give it to noob's only players who have been around for awhile should be able to use this ability.

I mean i wouldnt mind paying for two account's but hardware is holding me back . this suggestion has the ability to remedy that.

If possible make the Ai guy a clone that can be activated deactived at which ever cloning pool spawned him. ( station medical service) even go further and say a 12 hour usage limit until he must be returned to the cloning facility or else he is deactivated in space and killed.

the idea is nice. eventually you could even hire mercenaries npc controlled and such.. dunno how server load would cope with it tho.

While it would make the game more rewarding for the solo player, teamplaying would suffer..

I'm a IBM/DELL Blade Server Admin by trade server load could be offset by bakup servers or by increasing available servers maybe by FINALLY creating a specific server for missions server space, and Offset the workload.

I don't think it would hurt team play as I said its not to replace someone just to simply suplement them. And they would have the most basic of skills. I really like the 12 hour life span thing and maybe a Recloners cost to recreating the clone each time (seriously discourage constant use). Or maybe make them dependant on some Crazy Expensive Narcotic to keep them going but fail after 12 hours regardless?? Hmm free ships anyone :-P) Anyways as I said soundingboard guys so post some stuff :)
