You know, so you don't have to gate camp?

Probes are in the game and seem pretty cool.

Or do you already use them?

because probes are annoying to use, they show up on system scanner, and why bother with all that when you can just sit on the gate

Personally I would say ships are ready to warp when at gates, but when out in the middle of know ware they may be caught off guard and it seems more fun to find someone then to wait at a gate.

I would love to pirate myself but I do npt see any isk in it. And I don't think I would be good at ransomeing.

P.S. Buy the way, what does this mean? Probes to analyze 3

Cause typically if someone is going to safespot to avoid the pirates and have no chance, they will just log off before you can launch your first probe.

That's ok, it is like you won then anyways.

But I'm talking like, I even saw two ships that did not have any one in them, I could not board them becasue they were out of my skill range.

But you can find all sorts of stuff with probes and warp to them right?

Ships on the scanner always show "board ship", nothing to do with skills at all. You have to be with a certain range.

It's also no fun to kill someone afk at a safespot, because you cant see the terror that you've unleashed reciprocate.

The person will just end up at a station, as a clone, little to none-the-wiser.

No isk in pirating? thats the first ive heard.

Ransom's pay a good amount, but what really hits the spot for me is when i take down a ship with tech 2 modules, and bring them home for "resale".

I cant tell you how many times ive had HAC's come after my typhoon, only to learn that its a close range battleship if it wants to be =)

Then i bring home those tech 2 shield boosts, and etc, and count my isk =)

Thing is, you might not win every time, so be prepared for loss.

Edit: And remember, using Warp core stabs takes up those precious low slots you could be using for better stuff, like damage modules or armor tank modules (look up Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II for starters)

One of the reasons a pirate will do what they do is to get rid of a ship out of the area to protect that area?

Also, the Pirate won the battle because the ship he was attacking retreated, and when your enemy retreats, it is a win?

I don't think I would be good a t ransoming but I would not mind getting the loot off the ships.

But is there any other way pirates make money?

In what other ways are the probes used? To bad you need 3 of them, kind of hard that way, but I guess you get better the more you practice. It a good thing IMO that things are never too easy to do.

Uh, noooooo...

Pirates most certainly are NOT protecting an area, they are making it decidedly unsafe. The point of being a pirate is to make money from other player's destruction. You have to either ransom them (which you can't do if they've logged off) or kill them and sell the loot (ditto).

Because most of them are not pirates but just plain old gate gankers. Just kids that could not do real combat if they had to. All they know how to do is set there in gangs and kill single ships as they pass. If a force of equal numbers show up they safe spot and log.
