Edited by: Manyara on 31/08/2005 07:53:28 Does anyone have one of these yet? and are they worth the price? Sensitivy isnt a problem for me, I've always used my mice maxed out.
I'm getting a bit tired of my half-pint notebook mouse.
If I'm gona get a new one I wana do it properly, I'll either wait for these G5s to come out in the UK, or get Razer Diamond-Back or a MX518.
EDIT: also interested in the Razer diamondback and copperhead.
Any other reccomendations would be welcome.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/GB/EN,CRID=2162,CONTENTID=9950The keyboard is really sweet (The F buttons work without having to "Lock" them which is a nice change for this sort of keyboard) and has a lot of useful features. The mouse is awesome - it's really well built and feels great in your hand. It's quite heavy and the speed of mouse pointer movement is a bit weird at first but you soon get used to it. The hotkey program is small and uses up hardly any resources too. |

I have a logitec mx500 optical which is pretty cool - but a laser mouse? I would buy it if I could fit multifrequency crystals. |

I got a Logitech MX1000, and I love it. Wouldn't go back to my 518 or whatever it was. It's comfortable, the battery lasts a really long time, and it's really good for twitch-FPS.. like CS:S or HL2 b/c of how sensitive the laser is at tracking.
I'm just waiting for the new line to come out or to hear something about them. |

WTF? I have a MX1000 and it Sucks balls for FPS twitch, the stupid thing still tracks when you lift the mouse off the desk, also it just dosent feel as good for FPS as my old Optical logitech mice, It Feels skittish and unsure. Plus if u forget to recharge the battery it always runs out at the most inappropriate time. This mouse if Fine for browsing the web and playing eve, if your Well into your FPS, id steer clear of the Laser mice. IMHO Its Way overpriced to and not worth the money, save your bucks and buy a regular NON Cordless optical |

Choices should remain to either the MX518 or the MX1000...
Try either on a friends if you can. The 1000 is different, and doesn't suit everyone, but if it suits you, its hard to go back...
I use a 510 Blue due to getting mine before the 1000 came out. I had a 700 from release day and used it for a couple years before I completely wore it out. (Which btw, the 700 lasted 10x longer than ANY Microsoft mouse has for me)
Stick to Logitech for Mice/Keyboards, they just pwn |

I've had a MX1000 laser for a while now. I think it rocks. Accurate, big, and superb response for a wireless. And I play FPS just fine with em, Would say though that if that's your main objective get a razer. |

If you're talking about the MX1000, it's a nice precise mouse, however I find it very heavy for gaming use.
The Razer Diamonback on the other hand is one of the best mice I've ever owned. |

I currently use a MX 510 blue, however, the MX700 was an excellent mouse...
And normal wireless does = teh suck... however....
LOGITECH DOES NOT DO NORMAL WIRELESS. Their RF technology is amazing, I actually noticed that the radio updates on the MX700 were faster than the USB interface it was connected on, meaning the USB made the mouse laggier than the actual wireless-ness. |

I love my red MX510...this seems to be an incredibly successful model. I'd spring for a G5 Laser mouse, but they're not selling it, only the G7, which is cordless, and I would never buy a cordless mouse. And to be honest, $80 for a 2000 dpi laser mouse doesn't actually make a lot of sense, considering that I'm not a hardcore FPS gamer (although I really should be, I just never got into it somehow...)
My only complaint about the MX510 is that the tiny little "feet" or whatever you call them don't seem to work too well, one of them is already coming off, and the others are actually getting worn down...anybody know what to do about this? Or should I just give the slipping one a tiny bit of epoxy, stick it back on, and ignore it? |

I've had my MX1000 for over a year now and have had no problems with it at all. It's done fine in all games that I have played: CS, BF2, EVE, some RTSes, all that kinda stuff.
And works well for me when cutting out stuff in photoshop too.
I would highly recommend it myself, but then again... I have never really used any other good mouse to compare it too... |

Razer is great too. But it's a bit of a taste thing as well. I like my mice nice and heavy. And I have no problems with it even during the really long gaming sessions. But if you're not used to it. It can get quite painful. Forgot too mention. The battery of the MX1000 rocks. Nice li-ion, and fast recharge. And it's doubtful that it will ever run out in one sitting. Although it does a have problem with the battery state lights. I've had 2 and the lights stopped working on both after a couple of weeks. |

Edited by: Jiin on 02/09/2005 16:55:102000 dpi!I use a Razer Diamondback, though, 1600 dpi. It has a very different shape, though, which takes a while to get used to, especially since it feels as if the mouse pointer is "slipping around" the screen. Once you're used to it, though, it's beauiful. |
