eve is for the most part CPU limited rather than video card limited... contrary to popular belief. |

<---dual 7800 gforce:).
Oh, and i run a high power cpu and 2 gb of quality ram, and i still get lag. so no matter how much u spend lag will always be an issue in EVE.

An A64 with a GeForce 3 will go no slower than an A64 with a dual 7800 GTX setup in EVE.
EVE is very CPU limited. |

GeForce 7800 GTX, overkill... ya I know. We need a graphics revamp ;-) |

The 7800 is the best out there, but it really is overkill. I use a GeForce 6600 GT and it works fine with 2 gig of ram. |

A Geforce 5300 or something like that (2 Generations old, mainstream) with a gig of ram and a 2.2 GHz processor And still no problems Dual 7800 GTX's, unless you talk about proffessional products |

well at work i run EVE on 1000mhz with the most crappy card ever built .. and it runs eve pretty ok... id deffo say dont upgrade ur PC just for EVE.. i bought the best PC i could get and the only real diff is when i run 2 accounts from my old pc... u should see half life 2 at max settings though boys .. sheesh. Ill try switching 1 of the cards off from the SLI and running on 1 in EVE, interesting.. d solo. |

I used to have GF 4 ti 4200 and it run fine but lagged at big battles graphic side.
Bought a GF 6600 gt Eve looks much better then before and run smooth as hell ( 1280x1024 ,athlon barton 3000 +).
So i am very satisfied GF 6600 GT imho is sweet deal , its not so damn expensive and apart from Eve all new games run good .( even doom 3 and the like) |

GeForce 6800. Looks great and can be found for $150-$200 I used have the GeForce Ti4200.
On my laptop I have the GeForce 5200 Go. Also works best and I believe it has 64MB.

I'm using a Radeon 9700 overclocked and flashed to 9800 Pro level (from 275/275 to 380/340) paired up with a watercooled Mobile Barton (from 1.8GHz to 2.6GHz).
Although it is overkill for Eve, specs like those are almost a requirement to play FPS on a competitive level.
The GeForce 7800 GTX currently is the bleeding edge video card but Eve does'nt even seem to care.

I prefer how Eve looks on ATI than Nvidia. I admit it's quite seriously subjective tho. |

EVE tbh is a totally different game when AA/AF is forced by the drivers. Its amazing how big the difference is. However my 9700 pro is chugging trying to power my new 2405 FPW :(. I have the cash set aside for a AMD X2 system, but I'm waiting to see ATI's vid cards that are being launched next month. |

2.6gig p4 and a fx5900xt (the cheapest 5900 with crappy ram) 1.5g ram and eve runs great. |

A 9700 Pro can run EVE full speed without any bottleneck with 6x AA and 16x AF. I never turn those features off. |

Was given a GeForce Overclocked 6800gt not long ago.
Heres the interesting thing.
My self designed 8 month old system running my prior card 9600PRO ATI got nearly the same frame rate.
Says it all I'd say. My 2 year old 9600pro keeping up with the 1,000mghrtz Memory Clock 370mhz core clock card.
When using AGP if your Mainboard/Bios can not default higher then 256vid memory allocation (And if its older then 12 months yours cant) its a waste of money for EVE to buy these new cards.

If you get 50 with that, you'd get 50 FPS with a 7800. EVE is CPU limited. |

CPU - 3.2Ghx P4 /w Hyper-Threading RAM - 1GB DDr 400 GFX - GeForce 5700Ultra (128MB Ver)
No problems in eve, solid 30-40+ FPS even in large battles and POS Sieges.
Upgrading to 6800GT when im back from holiday. |

thats not 100% true. i used to get bout 50 FPS with my old PC with a 4600 gforce. If i run 2 accounts both in windows mode with things happening in space im 65-70 fps per account.. Single screen im 90-100 fps.. i have had it as high as 170 fps... should have taken a screeny... ill do it when i get it again.. i was using the EVE cntrl/shift/shift/M window, not sure how accurate that is. What im prob saying is 100 fps and 50-60 fps dont really feel all that diff to me, i find server lag is the main prob no matter how quick ur PC is eve will never be lag free. What i have noticed a BIG diff in is warping into a fleet fight.. screens actually load up . d solo. |

lag has nothing to do with how fast your PS is it has everything to do with wat type of internet connection you have, what type of internet connection the server has, and how many ppl are using that internet connection, ive got a 1.7Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, and 64MB video card and i get lag buuuuuut about 15 FPS (press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+M to get FPS) |
