I've been playing Eve for almost 2 months now. I have been enjoying it a lot but my interest has started to wane and at mo. i'm planning on suspending my account shortly.

Note suspending as opposed to cancelling :)

My main reason is at the moment my perception is that the items which I thought could make the game more fun haven't appeared and at the moment i'm playing to build my ship up - but that seems to be it :( Heck maybe i'm playing the game wrong but I mine gets me money or do a little trading - likewise. Or some pirate hunting. PC Pirate hunting exists but gets expensive real fast with those lovely pod kills :)

What I was looking forward to was the ability for players to create their own stations so ownership of space would start to come into the equation. Additionally apart from a couple of PC pirate missions by the GMs and Serpents eye? i've not seen much evidence of player events - again maybe i'm wrong?

Anyway that is my disappointment, if a Roadmap plan existed which gives a view on what is planned then that would help in understanding where the Devs want to take the game.

Strangely i'm also disappointed in the marketting, the game is still great (2 months is some period to play a game) yet the server pops are not going up and despite it having very good reviewed in the UK and US games mags no other marketting push has occured,

LeKjart has been working diligently on a roadmap for the last two weeks, getting sidetracked occasionally by urgent issues that needed immediate attention. I'll try to catch him to see if I can get an ETA on that.

I had been told weeks ago that station platforms were in the game already but that they were very rare finds and extremely expensive. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case and they were not in yet, but I know that it's something that is high on the priority list for upcoming patches. It's just an occupational hazard that unexpected situations arise that need to be dealt with first for the sake of improving performance or gameplay for the greater portion of the playerbase.

Clover has been working with the Aurora Project, the Polaris Events team, to coordinate their plans for bringing in small and large-scale events, some of which will begin to interactively introduce the Eve fiction into the game world. Some events have been done on the Chaos server, sort of as a way to get the event team's beaks wet and whet the appetites of the players.

I realize that this isn't exactly resolving your current complaint, but be assured that these are things that haven't been pushed so far back on the burners that they aren't even on the stove anymore.

Great! Are there any plans of announcing some of the events on Chaos ahead of time in the future, possibly through the in-game news? I'd love to know about an upcoming event ahead of time so I could log into Chaos and actually witness it.

I'm sick of being lied to by CCP.

Over and over, you promise us something is in game, only to find out it isnt.

If you cant provide it, DONT PROMISE IT.

This is like all the typical responses we get, they are working on it blah blah blah, tell the to stop spending our F'in money and work on our game we play.

Please, don't get into a flame war. Until you make your own game, don't question CCP's work ethics. They are doing a much better job then most other MMORPGs are/where doing when they launch(ed). Don't flame CCP, if you have a complaint put it forward in the proper way, as Talsworty did in his well thought out and laid out post. Thankyou Talsworthy, for showing others how to complain (but, I like to think of it as suggest, the way you laid it out at least).

angelus, dont give the line on 'go make your own game'

i am paying for this game, paying each and every month, as yet, the game desnt even remotely offer what was clearly advertisied on the box TWO months ago.

this is a significant period of time to be paying for something that doesnt even have the initial content offered.

Thus far we have went through considerable period of modification to game engine (very needed and understandable), but as far as content goes, we have seen shuttles and billboards. Marvellous.

Pann stated someone has worked 'very hard' for two weeks on the roadmap - still no roadmap, and worse still, two months after a games release, they dont even have a roadmap for where the game it going.

This is begininning to become unacceptable. Eve will not expand and progress if they dont get new players - currently players online isnt rising that dramatically. Thats a bad sign, it menas as many are leaving as going, and the pool of people joining is not bottomless.

Yes we want content, yes we now that takes time, but at least give us some indication of how much money we'll have spent to see the first signs of the game doing what the box sayes.

Could of course be that its Summer, and generally across the boards the numbers of people playing computer games for long periods of times drops, I know it does for games like quake/counter strike etc, and I remember the same thing happening for UO and other MMORPGs, peek time is always Winter/Spring from my observations.

With all due respect,
Its quite disappointing a communications person on behalf of a company would be misinformed/mislead/or mispeak regarding the availability of BP's in the game, or for that matter any other issue, by company cohorts.

As communication person for CCP, your credibility is seriously undermined, and for that matter CCP's when you provide information that is not accurate. Again, I post this respectfully, and not as a flame. I hope you make sure it is seen by the very people you report to. As I feel it is both relevant and germaine.

I hope as a business entity they will provide you with more accurate information in the future. However disappointing that information may be to the customer. I applaud you setting the record straight herein regarding the bp's btw.

From being around since the beta I would like to comment on something myself.

I would ask all ppl that hold CCP responsible for gameplay issues to step back and think of the business of this game.

An extremely promising product, was financed by a large company that is not very familiar with the MMOG market or for that matter genre. Can it be any wonder, after this product most likely was pushed to the market by the financer (May 6 Gold was way to early) that we still have issues that should have been resolved long ago? If my tiny understanding of the business world is correct, its not CCP to blame for unresloved issues, its most likely the people that are after "return on investment" to blame.

Respectfully Submitted,

About the things advertised on the box:
I bought a few "normal", non-online games the last years which f.e. advertised their mutliplayer mode, which was added 6-10 months later, in one case never. One game in particular still crashed every 30 mins after 4 patches and 5 months. And they all were neither massive nor online.
Compared to that ccp is doing damn good ;).
Compared to other mmorpgs they are also quite fast, not that this doesnt mean anything, cause all releases of mmorpgs i know of so far were quite horrible. Thats no excuse for ccp, im just stating the way the mmorpg bussiness works, sadly.

GFLTorque, SSI has gone on record saying they would have given CCP more time to beta EVE. CCP has gone on record saying they wanted to release when they did. Your point was brought up during the end of beta and answered then. It's a nice theory and many had it but it turned out not to be the case.

My opinion is the game could have used 3 more months of beta to get a majority of the missing content and balancing while removing many of the known bugs that ar still lingering from beta. On the flipside I enjoy playing eve in it's current state.
