I couldn't believe it...I was in the Verge Vendor system and went to a station with 4, count them, 4 open lab slots this afternoon.

I thought I was on the test server.

Seems people are no longer hording slots...granted the prices may be a little too steep for newbies, but oh well.

It doesnt work. I'm an idiot and I cant figure out how to profitably produce anymore.

Its really unfair. I wish I could take some time off my job (Saying "DO you want fries with that, sir?" is getting old) and go take an economics course from a community college, because CCP is discriminating against me due to my below-normal intellegance.

the pricing does NOT work...all its doing is driving out the smaller corps from research and will increase prices of bpcs...inflation is gonna be rampant if they continue to go up...currently im payint close to 4 mill per slot + the office fee's thats about 6mill average = insanity

yay! we have more slots to use.. but Nay! too bad we cant afford them. Imagine putting a bpo that cost a few million ISK into a lab for a few weeks to research ME. at a conservative 4 mil isk per 5 days over 4 weeks, you end up with over 22 million in rental fees alone. Suddenly your few million isk cheap bpo now has to sell to recover costs of over 20 million before you break even. With the mineral savings you get out of research i dont think it is realyl even worth it.

*shrugs*

Actually, it won't. Isk is going out of the economy due to the bills, and this will cause inflation to go down, and thus increase the value of the isk.

However, the nutso pricing on labs will mean the only profitable bpos to run off copies of will be battleships. This isn't entirely a bad thing, since it'll cause more money to be sunk out of the system in BPO purchases, and will encourage people to purchase more from people who are already constructing instead of just buying BPCs and building themselves.

So yeah, it's stinging now, but give it time. It'll come good. Myself, I've dropped down to only one lab - the most profitable one, and I'm only going to keep that until I can get some more in some little backwater nobody goes to much :P

It is working.

Simple thing is, labs are popping up all over the place, as such prices will start to fall again. And the rise in lab prices should be causing a rise in BPC prices (which afaik it is). If you go to lower sec, more unused ones, you'll get more profit because the lab slots are less used.

As for factories, I'll agree that needs looking at and lowering, as does offices.

The pricing will start to go down now that more than 2 slots are open at a station...then stabilize.

Its only so insanely expensive becuase it took so long to get it through your skull that if you hoard it the price goes up. Now we have a period where if slots are empty the prices will fall.

When prices are palatable again they will be filled. Simple, mkay?
