Ok this Level IV missions is hard. Anyone got any pointers on the 2nd part of this mission?

Went though the acceleration gate and 25 ships attacked!! Couldn't tank the damage and poof...

This one is tough solo. You really need backup to do this one. Set one guy up as a super-tank and have him aggro the spawns one at a time. Then blow them up :) easy enough with 2 mates.

I usually skip it due to the long drive between deadspace gates Wink

From my experience this level is divided into 4 groups that you can deal with one at the time. Don't think I've ever had any group target me before I start shooting at them. Just make sure you only target one group at the time.

Have done this lvl many times in my raven, shooting the 3 groups that start far off while sitting 15k from the 4th group near the gate. They don't bother me as long as I don't bother them and are quite content watching me blow up their mates :p

Is there any 1 mob NOT to target that will agro everything?

If you can get past the drones in the first level, level 2 should be relatively easy in my experience anyway. Each group can be dealt with seperately without aggroing another group, altho some sit close together.

tu be sure, target 1 group, just shoot at 1 target and watch to see witch ones agro you then kill them .. .

Easy one, very good refine (up to 2500 zyd in refine + others minerals)

Shooting buildings, sentry guns, and locking multiple spawns can cause massive aggro in any lvl 4 mission.

When you jump in lvl 2, there is usually one group that goes insto agro on first one thru gate. I believe it's 3 or 4 inties and one BS ....maybe a cruiser in that.

After the jumpin spawn is dead then you can go about manuevering.

Sometimes manuevering to close to a rat can cause it to start to target and shoot. try to avoid passing inside 10km or 15 km of rats.

Make sure you only target the rats that are flashing red in the overview. those are the only ones shooting you. Everyone else is just watching and will not engage.

That is very important as this mission puts you in a central location if i recall correctly and it's very easy to lock multiple groups.

That's kinda standard for any jump in rat spawn. Keep your head, look what's shooting you in overview, pick a safe direction, start targeting only the rats that are flashing red, give them a few seconds and the spawn will be highlighted, kill it, lick your wounds and manuever for next group.

One little tip to save time on this mission: You don't have to wait until you are at a good range from all the rats before shooting just from the furthest group away. This sounds obvious but after I realised it I no longer fly 60km from all the rats before opening up.

This means you can start shooting at the furthest group as soon as you come through the gate without waiting to get further away.

Let me get this straight, all the complaining you have done over the past 2 months and you hadn't even done a level 4 silence the informant mission???

I guess it's not as easy money as you and others said. Takes some time to do too, welcome to reality.

edit: shoot only that which targets you. Focus on one spawn at a time. Resting (recharging cap/shields) between spawns is a good idea.

Well, this was my first level 4 combat mission (I've been on a break since just after Exodus release), and getting the Megathron out with 58 structure points felt like a good result... Laughing

Just went in without knowing what to expect. Next time I'll bring hardeners too... Very Happy

I found this mission to be fairly easy, but time consuming. One group at a time and you will be fine. Pain in the ass tho when the supreme drone respawns and you just wasted 15 minutes killing the first one ugh. The minerals you get are decent, but i have never gotten any juicy stuff from this mission.

So how do you get the Supreme Drone Parasite to respawn? I've never seen that unless the mission time traverses DT or an unscheduled reboot.

Wel ive done this mission about 4 times, only had the supreme drone respawn once. Im guessing i took to long killing the first one or something. Im using an apoc for missions, so it can take a while to kill it, that might be the reason.

If u take too long to kill all the Drones and go through the gate there might be respawn some Drones. And if u have luck there respawns a Supreme (gives very nice Minerals) :-)

lvl 1:

Kill the first group near the gate, reload before engaging the supreme drone.
Kill the drones near the next gate
Kill the last group of drones, shoot the first drone as soon as you can target one
Kill the sentries

lvl 2:
Move a little bit down to about 30km from the spawn near the next gate
Kill the first group, starting with wingman (4 jugs) mercenary commanders (2 volleys) Reload before shooting the mercenary overlord (5 volleys)
Kill second group (mercenairy commanders, wingman, spider drones)
Kill third group (2 named BS 2 spider drones)
Kill last group (merc commanders, named bs)

lvl 3:
Shoot the BS first, EM cruises will hit you and the ship is fast (torps will not hit him before you shoot atleast 6 volleys)
Kill sentries
Kill roadhouse

Collect reward and if you are smart enough you know how to loot.

its EASY and im a noOb. drones r easy u keep distance (i do em in raven) the 2nd gate nothing attacks 1st, so u move say 40km away from them and take it 1 group at a time,
BS's dont do enything to u :) and the drones r flies with cruise missles, so take out cruisers 1st THATS THE key, alot o cruisers hurt
belive me i know :)

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input.

The problem I had was the Mercenary spawn in the deadspace.

I think what happened was I targeted a sentry and agrooed anther spawn and couldn't deal with both of them.

And the jump in point wing man location keeps respawning wingmen.

And S'Daria ....... I only give you hell outta an agent runner's love. Wink

Sorry to hear your first lvl 4 mission resulted in a poof.

Them sentries, albeit not that bad but solo makes it a bit "risky" huh?????

I've lost more BS than i go thru shuttles to missions, not something I proud of but it's truthfull. and yes I have mostly lvl 5 skills but that's due to the fact i try not to uber range to make lvl 4's simple. I enjoy getting my ship into precarious situations to see what it can and can not put up with. Fortunately for me, the last 5 ish times i got it into a spot where it couldn't ..... lets just say the one eye warp out saved me arse. I know you all know what I'm talking about there .....

the oh geeze i'm into my hull and got some power left and ripping shield at 700+ hitpoints every whatever seconds and craps failing click warp, and waiting for activation, oh crap inty respawn has me stasised, oh crap warp, oh crap lock that inty, oh crap 15 more seconds, oh crap, launch volley launch volley oh crap 40% hull, oh jeeze, pop goes the inties, warp goes the ship........ dang what's this 10% hull and no juice left to boot.

I wouldn't call it stupid piloting, just risky. but that's the way i pilot it. Agreed that many use uber range and that to me is just a waste of a good ship and skills. Not to mention all the dang travel time to loot. I like the 15km engagement so the loot is right there, it's faster, saves time, definitely more thrilling...... and more rewarding for my personal play. but that's me

any arguement about risk vs reward is kinda silly. each pilot can limit their risk to the lvl they want to chance....... I for one get stupid.... very stupid, use stupid mods, try slightly crazy setups..... I do it in game where it's the riskiest...... not on test server.

And I'm glad your actually working into them so that you can actually see for yourself the real risk vs rewards for your time invested in true solo lvl 4 missions.

Again sorry to hear about your loss, quite a humbling experiance loosing a good BS to NPC mission aint it?

that mission is really much more lucretive with a copilot wingman of your own. solo it's not for the time spent and as you seen quite risky.

hevens if you warp out in stage 3 as well .... all that dang travel time back there.

That mission has to be one of the hardest to truely solo. Not to mention time consuming for the loot. 2 hrs completely by yourself and gathering all loot is quite fast and super respectable solo.

heck 4 hrs solo could be respectable pending skills.

Don't shoot any named mobs until the very last, nor any turrets. Use visual targetting rather than nearest to furthest in the computer and select same groups. Oh and equip a webber for that rat at the end of the last level. :D

Never seen it myself, but there are two of them every time I run it. Don't think most folks realized they added another when they nerfed the resists on the Supreme's.

Raven, solo, easy

Pick 1 group at a time, torps 4tw, torps work at upto 90k, lock fire 4 torps at a frig, unlock, rince repeat, enemys blow up.
1-2 volleys per cruiser

Lock,fire,unlock,lock,fire,unlock

then BS's

Laugh all the way to the bank.

Bm a can on each level, dock, complete mission, get in indy, warp to your bm's collect loot, laugh all the way to the refinery.

Use mins to build more torps, sell excess for profit, laugh at bank manager

Rince, Repeat

1st stage

Rogue drones. A parasite and about 5 other drones are at the warp in point and will instantly aggro you as well as i think 2 sentry guns. one sentry way off one hitable. take the close one. APPROACH the parasite. he is a BS and his guns fail as you close range. if you get down right right next to him he can barely hit you.

none the buildings drop anything first stage.

2nd stage

Mercenary Fighters and a lot of them.

Warp in has a small instant aggro group and it also warps you right into the middle of all the groups so be careful to only target the falshing ships in your overview. once the instant aggro spawn is dead you can manuever to engage the rest of groups one at a time.

no buildings in this stage drop.

3rd stage

like 7 sentries and the informant. the sentries are at like 60km and farther in this stage at warp in.

easiest of all stages but there are some sentry 3's in this stage and they must go.

one building in this stage drops a good can. make sure to get it.

I just use one kin and one thermal hardner. i simply don't like stacking hardners

'Cause it'll outrun your torps even if it's the first thing you fire at.

Did this the last time I got the mission, fired 3 salvoes at it 70+ km away, torps flew behind me, first salvo poofed without hitting, second hit but only seemed like 3 or 4 of them, third one hit and he was still up. Wasn't tanked for EM damage so his missiles were knocking holes in my shields, and my drones barely seemed to touch it as it was nearly outflying them as well.

Finally ended up just firing a staggered stream of about 5 more salvoes at him, should have taken a screenie cause I had a cloud of glowing torp light all around me as they tracked their mark. :P
