After weathering a pair of intercorporate wars and a public relations storm following an Intergalactic Summit announcement, Intaki Liberation Front leader Saxon Hawke is stepping back, at least temporarily, from his role as Suresha of New Eden’s largest Intaki activist corporation.

“I’m tired,” Hawke said when reached for comment. “And after this most recent turn of events, I feel I have lost my center.”

Hawke went on to say that he is taking a “sabbatical” to spend time with several Idama in an effort to decide his next move.

“The longer I have been a capsuleer, the more unclear my path has become,” Hawke said. “I’ve begun to feel as though I am adrift in a fog. If I can no longer find my own path, I surely cannot provide guidance to my compatriots.”

When pressed, Hawke said the move was not likely to lead to his retirement.

“My pilots license is still valid and I could return to service at a moment’s notice,” he said. “But I am confident in the Ishas I have put in place and I have no doubt they can plot our course during my absence, however long it may be.”

Who will be stepping into the leadership role in his place? My vote - had I a say in this matter - would be on Mammal Tafren, personally, but I'm eager to see who will lead in Hawke's stead. I have no doubt, of course, that whoever they pick will lead with competence, respect and dignity. ILF rarely make mistakes.

You mean you were not, and still are not aware of anything the ILF has accomplished.

Perhaps you were still in school Major, or trying to claw your way to becoming a great capsuleer Major? Maybe you should stick to talking about subjects you understand half of the Protectorate should then follow suit, though I guess if you talked about only what you understand, the silence would be unbearable for you Major.. no?

Someone should do better at keeping his lackeys mouths at bay.

Why the anger john?
Here is just a sort list of the things that the ILF have "accomplished"

1. Declaring war on the STPRO and then *****ing about it when we blow them up
2. Declaring war on the FDU and then *****ing about how they are ment to be helping them.
3. Falsly claiming that they had acheived a victory over the STPRO because we stopped paying the war dec even though all the ILF did was hide.

I could keep going but there are more importedt things that require my attention then this trivial mater but if you would like to tell me about what else the ILF has accomplished then feel free to reply, but please loose the atitude as it makes you sound like a winging child that has not got their way.

What makes you think I am angry, annoyed perhaps not angry.

How about the active effort to counter pirate efforts with a limited military capacity, or the efforts to keep the Intaki population in supply of luxuries that people like you and me take for granted, or even their willingness to stand up to brutes who know nothing more then to shadow over entire planets with the threat of killing entire civilian populations?

You should look in the mirror before speaking of anger Major.

In the time that has passed since the article above was posted, the ILF has been approached by friends and allies curious to learn more.

It's clear from a number of discussions here in the Summit, that in recent times the ILF has been involved in some of the more high profile goings on throughout the Placid region, the focus obviously being the Intaki system itself.

I would like to therefore allay some of the concerns over the Suresha's sabbatical and in doing so also address the points raised by Maj. Shadow.

It is of course understandable that the recent events between elements of the State militia and the ILF will have played some part in the Suresha taking some time away but it is by no means the only reason. An observer might assume that the last couple of months have been a difficult time in the ILF but this is not the case.

I won't respond directly to the matter of the recent wars with elements of the State militia and the ILF other than to correct Maj. Shadow's suggestion that the ILF declared war. The only action taken by the ILF was an announcement confirming an RoE policy that had existed for almost 12 months and an official resetting of some standings from blue to neutral. In a few extreme, limited cases negative standings were applied. There are already debates ongoing here in the Summit that cover this conflict and it's probably best if newer discussions are not derailed by those going on elsewhere.

As has already been alluded to in other discussions here, the ILF Isha-Silpa (Director of Industry) and acting Mahesha, Apollonius Verus, confirmed to others in the ILF that during the period of heightened tensions in the system, statistics suggested that the ongoing growth of the Intaki 5-5 trade hub had increased further, resulting in better sales revenue and profit figures for those alliances, corporations and individual capsuleers who buy and sell from the market there.

The IPI alliance and ILF corporation have also continued to receive positive interest and in the last fortnight the IPI accepted the application of membership by another corporation invested in the Intaki system and the ILF has continues to welcome new pilots into it's fold on a regular basis.

Even now, the ILF is actively investigating opportunities across the Placid region looking for systems suitable for additional POS infrastructures to be established, building on the consistent commercial successes the corporation enjoys.

These are by no means dark times for the ILF and IPI.

Mr. Hawke is a good friend and ally - for his sake, I hope his temporary retreat comforts him well. I look forward to what sorts of collaborative efforts the Ishas he's appointed have in store for the ILF and I-RED.

Only if it's wrong, Mr. Tafren.

Otherwise, it's just documentation.

A group of people standing up to the opportunists, to counter what is wrong in this universe, and trying to change it instead of taking the path many follow in life by choosing to destroy the lives of others. Courage is not weakness.

It is good news to hear Mr. Hawke has decided to take a sabbatical. Too often in these critical situations, leaders such as Mr. Hawke are kidnapped and feared dead.
