Is it even feasible?

It seems that even in a maxed out BC you are looking at around 50 jumps to go over the total mass limit. Even with 3 doing it, you are looking at 17 or so jumps.

So do any C1 dwellers bother?

Also I know there is like a 5 min session timer after you jump through a certain number of times, but I can never figure out where that would be. Say you jump out in and back out, would that session timer be for that jump back in?

First off, you are confusing the session change timer and polarization.

Session change timer is 30 seconds. This is the same session change timer you see when jumping through a gate, joining a fleet, or switching ships in space. During this 30 seconds, you are provided with the session change cloak and are invulnerable, unless you move.

Polarization occurs when you jump through the same wormhole twice within two minutes. Once polarized, you may not jump through that same wormhole again for four minutes.

So:

Jump through WH A, then back through WH A = 4 minute polarization on WH A

Jump through WH A, then through WH B, then back through WH B, then through WH A = polarized on WH B, okay to transit A

As far as feasibility of collapsing a C1 hole, that's up to you. With enough people I'm sure it can be done relatively quickly, and with great accuracy if you use the heavy dictor trick.

Thanks

First off, i have no clue of what the heavy hector trick might be.

But basically, if I am calculating this right, if I had 4 BC'sas close to the 20mil per jump max, they would have to jump back and forth about 12-13 times. And if each other time they had a 4 min wait it would be maybe around 30 min or so?

Not horrible.

You've got a couple options. First is finding a max mass ship, which is 20 mil mass. I used Retrievers. Five of them jumping through is 100 mil mass. Takes about 15-20 minutes to close a hole that way. It all depends on how bad you want to close the hole. I fit my Trievers with two warp stabs and a MWD for quick warping. And maybe I had a proto cloak? I don't remember if all that fits.

Your other option is the aforementioned heavy interdictor trick. I don't think it will allow you to jump through a C1 hole, however. You mount a 100mn AB on a HIC, put numerous warp field generators in the highs.. When you turn on the warp field generators, they reduce the mass of the ship significantly. You use these when you're trying to close a critical hole. In your case, you won't use the warp field gens until it goes crit.

When you turn on the battleship size afterburner, it will increase your mass to upwards of 60 mil. Depending on the hole mass allowance, this will usually close a critical hole.

But like I said, your max mass allowance is only 20 mil, it may not work.

Sorry, was waiting for class to start when posting, didn't have time to elaborate.

[Broadsword, Example]

10MN MicroWarpdrive II
[empty med slot]

[empty med slot]

Warp Disruption Field Generator I
Warp Disruption Field Generator I
Warp Disruption Field Generator I
Warp Disruption Field Generator I
Warp Disruption Field Generator I
[empty high slot]

The above fit, with nothing active, has a mass of 14.82mil tons.

With the MWD active, it has a mass of 19.82mil tons, just below the 20mil limit of C1 holes.

Each field generator reduces the mass of the ship by 80%. With all five active, you end up with a mass of 6342.4 tons.

Once you get the WH critical (less than 50mil remaining), go out with fields on @ 6342.4t, come back in @ 19.82mil tons with the MWD on.

Allows you to be pretty precise with WH collapsing.

1) It depends on the static. A z647 for example (static from C2 to C1) has 500 mil max mass, with 20 mil mass per jump. Thats 25 total jumps to collapse it give or take (total mass tends to fluctuate between a certain percentage of the max from one spawn to the next). 2 people in 20 mil mass ships can close a c1 fairly quickly.

2) Its 4 minutes, not 5, and someone above already explained the mechanics pretty well.

Well, apparently polarization is screwed up at the moment, as what I stated above is no longer the case.

Jumped out to HS, back into a C2, then out through a K162 to LS, back into the C2 again, attempted to jump out to HS again and got polarization message.Rolling Eyes

Anyone else confirm?

"You mount a 100mn AB on a HIC, put numerous warp field generators in the highs.."

100MN prop mod will not go through a C1 WH. Also, you only really need one warp generator fitted. 2 to be extra safe. It's not a bad idea to have two fitted anyway.

1. Unscripted WFG for shrinking mass when closing supercrit WHs.
2. In PvP, use bubble and scripted WFG incase they fall on the edge of your bubble and you need to secure your target.
