So, I realize that this is probably just a "me" issue and sounds like complaining, so be it. With a skill system like the one EvE has, when are they going to let us manage skills from an online browser? I can't list the times I have used a Jump Clone late at night, only to forget to reactivate the skill queue before I log off, only to realize it when I'm at work. It seems a bit silly that they don't have an online skill management system when they already have the ability to see all skills and skills in training via EvEGate.

CCP, FIX THIS PLEASE. It's frustrating to lose days'/weeks' worth of skill time (Yes I realize it was my own failing in forgetting, but I'm sure many people do it.) just because there is a feature that is so close to implementation, yet so far away.

I used to be they feared the botters and having this would surely be an auto-trainers paradize to rear pilot emryos ready for the Character Bazaar.

Dunno these days tho, they dont seem too concerned with bots anymore so maybe it s coming sooner rather than later.

I think a better augment is those guys that are away from EVE for longer then their skill queue lasts

Even if someone is gone from EvE for a couple weeks, what is it to CCP if they are able to swap skills out during that time as they are still paying customers. If anything, they are more desired because they use no CCP resources while still paying the same cash per month as someone who is in a 1200 man alliance war who helps contribute to extreme server meltdown :P

I hear that.

Been there (multiple times), done that, got t-shirts (with "I can pilot capital ships, but can't remember to keep learning a sodding skill").

Although part of me is happy I'm not alone, I'd like some light weight method to control such a core aspectof the RPG.

Heh, EQ for 10 years. Back toward the beginning, I read some lore at one point where Nizran L'Crit was the name of the Dark Elf general who led the assault in Kithicor which ultimately led to the nasty haunted ugliness that it is now. Stopped playing last year, but after 10 years of using that name in-game, it's pretty tough to lose it. :P

Don't worry it will happen soon. However it will come in the form of a "premium" account which will cost 2 plexs or x AUR. This new feature will allow web based skill training, market transactions, and ingame chat.

Why would that matter? Login or no, they still get their money. You gotta pay to play no matter what. :P

If I remember correctly someone from CCP said that they do not want to do that and other things on evegate, because of how easy it would become to automate. If they made market accessible on evegate suddenly market bots would flood the markets, same for other suggestions. Also it would become way harder to catch bots.

tbh i think we should get this.

In rl i am a navy man. I spend 5-6 months a year on the ocean with no option to log into eve at all besides eve gate to check on my mails. It would be sweet if i could enter gate aswell to throw in a new monthly skill. I think alot of people will keep there accounts active if they could add skills this way, Now i just let my sub run out every time i go to sea. max skill i can set is like 1 sometimes 1,5 month :(

+1

I would be interested to see how many people approve of this. I can't imagine how people could take advantage of skill training by botting, on the other hand, people that might cancel their accounts when they go on vacation might just keep subbing if they can add new skills while out and about via EvEGate.

hehe. Posting in a thread that is asking if CCP will iterate and follow-up on published features. The OP has much to learn of CCP and their development and IP management practices. Very HappyRolling Eyes

Very easily, currently I can't manage infinite skill queues. If it was available on evegate suddenly bots can train hundreds of accounts at once and sell them on character bazaar for profit.

Just add a damn CAPTCHA or similar to the page that allows you to change skill queue. Problem solved. Automation on a web application isn't difficult to defeat provided the human inconvenience factor is justifiable.

Yes because CAPTCHA has proved soo effective in the past. Thats why they have to continue to update and modify the complexity of it to the point where most actual people can't even read it. Horrible idea.

What about those RSA keyfob things that keep popping up in the security discussion? You can't get around them with a bot.

An alternative to web skills access would be a holiday mode in-game. Let's say twice a year you are allowed to activate a holiday mode that allows you to stack extra skills in your queue. If you login to Eve during the holiday mode it automatically de-activates.
