I was thinking to shield tanking ship that kite armor tanking ones with impunity as long as they stay outside of web range. Then I realize that there is no ewar affecting mobility outside of webrange. So I thought an ewar module that affect agility at "long" range would be cool.
I first thought to a mass augmentor, but I gess it would be overpowered (basicaly, I think playing with mass is a good way to break things) ; but agility disturber would just be a nuisance without, I think, being overpowered because of being an ewar module requiring a medslot, which mean in competition with other ewar modules or mobile friendly shield tanking modules.
I think that module should have agility modifier equal to inertia stabilizer with 20km optimal range and 10 or 20km falloff.

I think this module could be considered as a long range mobility control module which is something lacking (well, there is the loki and minmatar ewar cruiser, but that's not for everyone and minmatar already beat all races in term of mobility).

Have you tried fitting a web to a Min Recon ship? That seems to be what you're looking for, they can fit 40-80km webs.

Making a longer ranged module that's effectively the same as a web would be quite OP, webs are powerful enough as-is.

1)rapier......have fun.

2)faction mods like webs or prop mods (go fo the cheap c or b types) ...have fun

3) thermodynamics 4/5, nano paste (for after if you win) and cook your web and porp mod....have fun

all 3 above mixed together....loads of fun.

don't like minny, do 2 and 3....or don't jump ships faster than you with better optimal/falloff lol.

Also the slight problem your agility killer would backfire on you. If your target right now is faster and more both fit this lr "web" may have jsut made things worse. Can't catch up to that barrage kiting jagaur...the last thing you want is to give that jagaur a lr "web" to counter yours. Its still gonna kite you...but that lr "web" will fix its tracking shortcomings (even running 200mm AC's lol). Means that barrage hits much better...and you are still out of your optimals to do much about it.

I think an agility disruptor is a fantastic idea. The ability of ships to change their direction of movement in the middle of a fight is overpowered. Ideally, two ships would just sit there, dead in the water, and plug away with everything they had until one or both of them axploaded. As it is, they can already accelerate away or even warp out of the fight entirely (well, unless they're webbed and scrammed). What CCP should really do is make a "STOP" module that stops the target ship from doing anything, because right now, you'd have to fit 3 or more modules to make that happen, which reduces the amount of "gank" you can fit onto your ship, so you see fights lasting, like, 60 seconds or more. But, noobs in Rifters would just come along and use the module on bigger, more powerful ships, so, maybe only one combatant should be allowed to use the module in any given engagement, and, since higher skillpoint players have been playing longer, they should have priority. They've earned the use of a "STOP" module . . . maybe it should be called a "GOTCHA" module.

Another possibility is for them to just extend the range of the stasis webifier to, say, 20km-40km, to put it on par with many of the other electronic warfare modules. You may ask yourself, "What would be the justification for extending the range of such a powerful module?", but you're basically asking "Why should an ant be able to tackle down an elephant in another city?", but I say: "Who cares where the ant is relative to the elephant? If you accept that an ant can hold down an elephant at all, then what does it matter what city it is in or what color hat it has on?" . . . maybe 60km. Or, maybe even an area of effect webifier for null and wormhole space.

its called fleet composition. Bring a rapier to fleet/gang.

Rapier has that web range you seek. My recon 5 pilot with basic eft (ship, web)

web II is 40km's

DB web 56 km's


Really bored, eft officer webs on a recon 5 rapier. over 70km's.

solo as best you can, choose targets based on your fit and abilities or if jumped by a superior ship work your ass off to get a chance to warp out.

That is precisely what I said : nowadays, if you want to control range, you shall go minmatar ; fullstop. That is weird IMO moreover because minmatar ship can already controle range with their speed and agility and have these long real web on top of that. And web is way more powerful than an agility disturber would be.

That is what I like in my idea : not only it give a light counter to fast agile ships that require some piloting skills to be used effectively, but it is also something that don't exists and which could add new possibilities for everyone.

For your jaguar which would be imba in your opinion, I don't agree with you : ewar require a med slot ; if he want to get agility advantage over it's ennemie, that will be at the expense of something else. In pvp, med slot are pricey IMO and when you already have an advantage with agility, that will not change anything actually. By the way, reducing ennemie ship's agility will not help you to track him.

PS : I forget to add that speed and agility are very powerful abilities that nothing can counter outside webrange except for a few minmatar ship, therefore the place for this module.
