This is space and even then nothing unusual, new, never seen before ever happens, new discoveries are never made and content is handed to the player in a silver plater.

Use your Space CCP, make it exciting by adding a special division dedicated to make random events, with random unique stuff... imagine.

Someone is scanning in WH and finds a WH... K162 to unknown... he jumps and the hole collapses, unexpectedly... trying to scan a way out from there the pilot finds a strange site... never seen before... some sleeper structure abandoned along time ago... wait.... it says he can access it... he access it and he finds a 1 BPC 10x run of some new sleeper t3 module never seen before... one time event, one lucky player, strange, profitable and unexpected...

Imagine the possibilities:
To build those 10 run BPC you would need also some strange artifacts found perhaps by another player in another system...

Make this occur inside a storyline.

MMOs rely on being predictable because a) most players are Sperglords who can't cope with unexpected events and b) for the sake of balance there needs to be certain amount of control over what's going on in the universe. Adding "random" events with "random" loot just means adding another bunch of scripts which will sooner rather than later be disassembled by the people from a) and subsequently farmed to death.

Not if such events are placed in game after DT (or during) by a specialized DEV/GM team in "the cover of the night" without anyone knowing.

I see what you mean; not random, per se, but scripted from the devs themselves so there's no way to "mine" them. I think it'd be nice to have some special events etc. occasionally around here.

Eve does need more unknowns. That doesn't mean to say it needs more flashy rewards, just interesting events and stories.

For example, a friend of mine was heavily involved in the early sansha live events. He'd roleplay (mildly) being a pro-sansha pilot, helping kuvakei where he could (lowsec usually). He lost his ship to a bug in one of those events, and petitioned it. About a week later, he received a convo from kuvakei himself, The entire conversation was done in character. Kuvakei thanked hm for his efforts, and rewarded him with a replacement ship, he fleeted my buddy, and gave him a lowsec system to travel to. Upon warping to kuvakei he found his ship, faction fitted, exactly as he had it before. There is no death in sansha. Surprised

Little things like this go a long way. I remember my first month or two, eve seemed SO massive, so many things were unknown. I miss that child-like wonder, that curiosity. I felt like i could travel for months and never see the same space twice. I'd visit the monuments, the eve gate, taking "daring runs" through lowsec to get there etc...

Bring back the unknowns, the one-offs, and the mystery of this infinite universe.

Maybe do this… oh say a few years after they get the Caldari CQ working? No? Oh well.

Now THAT is nice. More stuff like that needs to happen. Yeah, EVE definitely needs more random. I mean, it's space, nothing should be ordinary. I'm a fan of atmospheric effects; there are some with incursions and WH's but, honestly, there should be some in every system in eve, adding that little bit more of complexity to things. things are too "easy". most players just run their high sec missions, fit the appropriate tank and thats it. Also,I'd love to see some mission runners get "raided" by npc pirates(unconnected to the mission)much like player pirates attempt to do. not all the time, but often enough so no one gets comfy YARRRR!!

I would have liked to CCP continue with the WH story, instead, they bring on "Incursion."

Would have been more interesting to have the Sleepers coming into any sec. area and starting massive battles..

Imagine, you undock in your "safe, high sec" hangar and BOOM!!! a WH from a C5 opens immediately creating Chaos and Carnage all around you.

I say a C5 in a .9 as you would eliminate the safety net that the carebear community holds dear. The higher the sec status, the tougher the "incursion" from sleepers will be.

Just a thought that would've kept WH stories interesting.

That is amazing. CCP really knows how to get some things right, claps for the story team, they are awesome.

What might be a good storyline is The Eve Gate reopens temporarily(once) or periodically and "Earth" tries to establish control over Eve galaxy forcibly. Making the Sansha Incursion seem tame in comparison.
