I recently purchased a carrier and am going to be living out of it with my other toon in null sec. Sort of like an RV.

If i make a cyno with my alt, i know everyone can see it whilst its there, and i know that if your in the system it shows on your overview and you can warp to it. But if someone else has a capital ship within range can they also jump to it?

Also, with a recon ships 50% reduction in cyno time my cyno should last 5 mins. Thats still a long time. Are there ways to make it shorter?

only if they are in your fleet. the rest of your post is correct, and no, you cant make a regular cyno last less than 5 min.

"Regular cyno"? Is there another sort of cyno that my carrier can jump to?

the two types of cyno are 'regular' and 'covert' and your carrier can not jump to a covert one

Actually you can have a cyno last as little as 30 secs.
As soon as you jump to your cyno, you activate multiple smart bombs, cyno over. Wink

From the sounds of it, the last thing you should be doing is jumping a carrier around solo without learning a little more about the game; unless you want to lose your carrier.

If you're going to do it regardless; don't use a recon to light a cyno without support. Five minutes is a long time. Also, always jump to stations.

I never joke about killing. However I would recommend using a frig. I dont mind waste, but popping a recon each time I move an SC would be annoying.

a rookie ship makes a fine cyno ship, strap an aux power core to it and i think you need cyno 5 for the fuel reduction, but i use them all the time so i can just throw them away.
