So I just created this toon which I planned on being a mission runner (only done mining and trading with my other toons, never really got into combat stuff yet). After training a few skills up, I flew out to a nearby system that has 15 belts in it, figuring I could test out different load outs on rats there.

The first belt I hit I see a yellow Retriever wreck. Nobody else was nearby, but thereís 40+ people in the system. I figured what the heck, so I flew over and opened the cargo and found 2 Expanded Cargohold IIs, a Strip Miner I, some hobgoblins, and a ton of scordite.

I figured why not, so I grabbed the cargoholds and the strip miner (filled my tiny little cargohold), and flew off (I was paranoid somebody was going to decloak and kill me). Nothing happens...

I fly to a local station and sell the 3 items for just over 2 million ISK, woot! Not bad for a character that is only about 2 hours old lol.

A few minutes later I get a private convo from the owner of the retriever asking me why I killed him while he was afk (which I didnít do, some else apparently did, I'm guessing belt rats). He then starts throwing insults at me lol. And this whole thing has me highly entertained.

I have to say that this experience has gotten me intrigued in the life of a pirate and I may have to devote this toon to that path lol.

So that being said, what are some ways that I can become a total asshat without ruining my sec status? Just ninja salvaging and can flipping? Or are there other ways I can entertain myself via acts of piracy in high sec while leaving my sec status untouched?

(Iím not saying I wonít ever go full blown pirate and wreck my sec status, but since Iím just venturing on this path Iíd like to avoid wrecking it until I know for sure that itís the path I want to follow).

The opportunities to be an asshat are hard to predict, but you can boost the odds with suicide ganking. I've also noticed that low sec miners are quick to anger over how someone would be evil enough to explode their defenseless ship. If they have a good grasp of your native language you can spin wild yarns of conspiracy and how you were either hired to destroy them by some mythical competition, or are exacting revenge on behalf of either yourself, a fictitious person, or some random stranger you pick out of local. If said random stranger denies it, it only makes them look like they're in on it.

I'm not out to get 'tears' or grief people but when people actually DO get angry at me for something I did it's quite funny. You managed to get someone angry at you for something you didn't even do (even if you were involved), so well done.

You need to re-read...
(I was paranoid somebody was going to decloak and kill me)

Ok, maybe slightly ambiguous... but still correct. He was paranoid that someone was going to decloak near the wreck, that may have been a trap, and kill him for taking the items from it.

Shocked

He never said he cloaked... he said he was worried someone would DECLOAK and gank him for looting the wreck...

Kadron,
/me puts arm around him

Welcome to Eve. More of your type, we could always use Twisted Evil

n.b. the only things that trash your security status are popping players without aggression and podding them without aggression (second is an OMGWTFNO in highsec).

For starters, read around on the forums about all the things that makes people come and rage post about. Then go do a lot of that. Eventually you will invent variations on the themes.

I can't figure out how else he knew you were anywhere near his wreak were he really afk.

something in your story doesn't add up for me.
