I come with hat in hand. My sad story: Blood Minor Annex

Thought I'd try a little exploration in losec Blood Raiders region. Got through the neuting and scramming cruisers in the first room- even survived the locals trying to scan me down while drained to 0 cap and webbed, killed what was holding me down and escaped to a safe spot. After the sugary drinks the locals used had wore off, I was able to finish the first room and continue to the second room. I was tanking the first wave but finally got overwhelmed- webbed by 2 stasis towers and webbed and scrammed by some other cruiser---Boom!

Soloing in Drake:

HM II's Scourge Furies and salvager filled the high slots
2x Invuln II's, 1X EM Hardener (don't remember off the top of my head, Large Shield Extend II, 10 MN AB II, Cap Recharger II in the Mids
3x Shield Power Relay II's, BMC II
3x Med Defense Field Purger Rigs
5x Hob II's

Recommend better fit or strategy? I haven't much experience with Blood Raiders

1. Use the appropriate damage type (EM for Blood Raiders). The kinetic damage bonus of the drake doesn't compensate for their high kinetic resistances.

2. If you do a passive tank, make it completely passive. Doesn't matter whether your semi-active tank depends on three modules or four - if your capacitor gets drained and those modules stop running, you're just as dead as if you had a fully active tank. Maybe leave one invuln II in there, but that's about it.

3. After you've made your tank completely passive, throw out the cap recharger and replace it with another LSEII.

Problem with Mr Drake is that you can't do a little bit of both with it. It's either full-on passive or a PVP fit.

I do blood exploration myself, and with any of the annexes you must go completely passive, fit a cap booster, or fit a medium NOS. Even some of the anoms in hi-sec neut/nos you...

Just go full passive, watch local and dscan, and you will be fine. The fit below is a standard fully passive drake, it's slow and does crappy DPS but can ignore neuts and will tank the plex so long as you prioritise web/scram frigs, and then highest incoming DPS. In the second room, take down the scramming frigs (your drones) and web towers first (your missiles). Use your range and keep moving away at all times, especially from the warp-in point as Mr Pirate will get a free kill if you don't... ;)

EDIT1: When you pop the stasis towers you get another spawn, if memory serves, they are mostly more neuting cruisers and a couple of BS. The cruisers do little damage outside 25km, and the BSs 35-40km. Keep them at that sort of range.

You can bling it if you want, but this works as-is...

EDIT2: a link here, which is pretty much garbage in terms of what you face, but gives a reasonable summary of what to do...

Thanks guys,

Makes perfect sense- I'm no fit pro for sure. I'll give it a try.

So, while we are on this discussion, should I be using a Raven instead? I like the Drake for losec because it is more agile and warps quickly compared to BS- so has gotten me out of many tight spots. Plus I have the skills to be able to kite with it and do decent damage up close. I was using the Raven mostly in Nullsec because many of those plexes are just too tough foe the Drake.

Have good skills for both, so was wondering.

i would advise phoon, not raven. Active tanking bloodies with shields on T1 ship is ouch.
