As the servers come up, you know how it is, you immediately go to your sell orders and see 5 other people bashing each other every 20 seconds, what do you do?

A)
Be polite and wait for them to stop, then beat their prices.

B)
Join in and have some fun for the next few hours (you sick sick puppy)

C)
Opps, accidentally make a mistake and replace a zero with an 8 =)

D)
Totally troll the crapp out of them all with totally random numbers and 1-2 items to see who REALLY wants that first sale of the day?

E) All of the above, so you can either sell off your hard of items to them/Buy up all their items cheep and repost?

Every morning in Jita and Amarr, its the same thing, its as if all the merchants active in the game, all join in and fight over the same tired items day after day...

P.S.

I just got the first sale while writing this Razz

Whats the big deal about the first sale of the day?

IMO, I'd rather just sell my stuff for the highest price possible, and the largest volume possible. The children fighting over the first sale can have their jollies, I'll just outsell them later during peak hours.

It's a bit of a morning ritual. Most people log on late after the servers come up so the competition has less people but it is a bit more aggressive for those that are participating.

I usually go with B.

If it's really competitive Ill do a bit of D. Split off my product and start undercutting hard with a smaller portion. When their prices drop low enough I buy what they have, consolidate it all and then resell it at what my larger portion was at.

SH

0.3 seconds.

I usually last 5-10 minutes before I either start a second order to take the lead for 5 minutes, or I use other tactics to make the 0.01 ISK game worthless for the other trader.

I usually pick my order price (not even always the best price) and don't touch it for at least a couple of hours (usually not at all until it sells).

The bulk of my traders are positioned within the normal market fluctuation so chasing the top order is relatively unimportant. I

On the few orders that I plan to be aggressive with, my aim is to have them competative at peak trading, which is a 6 hours after trade opens.

I just 0.1 underneath them whenever im selling.

Doing anything else is just an unnecessary deflation of the market so the next day you make less money, if 95% of traders weren't dribbling idiots we would all make alot more isk from buy it now buyers...

I find it fun placing orders for nearly no profit.. but still making some.. :P

see item with average price of 31isk/unit

Place buy order at 30isk/unit
Place sell order at 30.34isk/unit

Watch as almost no one tries to 0.01 you for weeks.

Steady income.
