Are Guristas still permajamming or has CCP finally gotten around to balancing this?

Heh, always bring drones. We'll leave it at that.

I haven't seen a gurista rat in ages, but pre-fix even the worst missions were still doable in a tengu with a single eccm module. I can imagine that a marauder still isn't a good choice for fighting guristas though due to their pitiful sensor strength.

Its still bad. I carry FOF's in my Tengu, less DPS but less frustrating.

I just did a Guristas Extravaganza with a Golem and one EECM, and the answer is yes.

Couldn't clear the last (non-bonus) room because of it, but fortunately it's not necessary to complete the mission.

I use a Tengu with no ECCM, and never have encountered permajam. At most jammed for 2 cycles.

well o lvl4 missions i didnt really encounter this problem a lot in golem. once u know who's going to jam u make that a priority target, and use drones as well. other then that might want to bring fof weapons for these cases.

i can confirm that i was jammed for more then 10 min mining on lvl 4 mission. drones that were in space did not try to kill 2 guristas saboteurs.

Guess we got lucky but was 3 of us and we got into habit of targeting jammers first taking them out fast.

they wasnt near as many i felt but maybe just me.
know they said they reworked missoins.

They did however changed the lvl 4 Guristas the assault
Few days ago i had the mission and i thought noway am i going to do this in my paladin, since i had no other ship available except my legion i flew it in my legion thinking ,i ve done this mission hundreds of times with my caldari character in his tengu , my legion isn't much different as a tengu except i using lasers and shorter range

What suprised me most i never got jammed in the first room a,d in the second room only once just before i popped both elite cruisers

Other note was the guristas battleships only ships i saw were conquistadors and destroyer type guristas battleships , was this just a one off missions variant or did they changed it again

One more note did the mission with all ships and spawns killed in just over a hour in a legion and never had problems tanking

They still jam, but cant say Ive been permajammed in a while.. Raven/CNR.. in GE4 you just need to get your drones on the jam frigs when you can and tank the rest in between jams, only happened 3 times on my last run through it.

In nullsec they are. Near impossible to clean out a 3x 1.25, 1.1 or dire spawn without the sensor strength of a carrier.

If they did not attack at all they were set to passive instead of aggressive, if they just spent all their time attacking other stuff, the trick is to make sure they are idle when one of the ecm cycles begins. They will typically go after whatever next activates a hostile module on you(or did last when they make their decision, its a bit unclear which it is based on the times the split targets).

Guristas are crap, belts in Guristas space are deserted nobody want to be jammed for 15 min trying to kill 2 battleships, way to go CCP another genius idea, to get in our money making way, its as if they dont want you to play their game

This has been my experience as well. Dissolution sub with no ECCM, and I am very rarely jammed. I have been dual boxing a DPS torp phoon to go along with the tengu (the tengu is gains aggro), and when a new wave comes, and targets the phoon it too is rarely ever jammed.

Also, I did "the assault" gurista l4 in an arbitrator last week and I was jammed maybe 5 or 6 times, and I was on that mission for a very long time (Watching anime on my other screen, so I may have not noticed a few jams), but really it didn't seem bad at all.

Nah, not impossible to overcome. Just maybe not worth it from a reward vs. time cost POV when there are easier targets around.

Now this is true.

On the other hand, a "missioner" posted the other day that he had petitioned for a new ship as he had been scrambled and blown up...

Hopefully this will get some attention in the upcoming patch. I'd rather the rats do more damage than jam, it makes the game even more a bore than it already is. Jamming isn't interesting, it isn't challenging, and its not a "twist".

Its just outright stupid and has the equivalent fun factor of watching paint dry, furthermore it turns the game into a screensaver of spinning your ship while getting shot.

Weird run tonight with worlds collide Guristas + Serpentis.

First room I got jammed once. Doing the Guristas room, I didn't get jammed at all. Serpentis side otoh - I only had like 3 attempts at sensor damping but the frigates appeared about 50% closer so I WAS scrammed for a change of pace.

During the supposed "perma-jam", I got jammed all the time in that Guristas room - almost constantly but it was doable yet, in that time, I never got jammed in the first room - not once. Serpentis side... Let's just say that a machariel SUCKS as a drone boat but that beat the hell out of 8k lock ranges - after this 'fix' -- no problem.

I did some 15 or so Worlds Collide prior to the 'fix' without any problems beyond slowing me down a bit. Again, these changes -- Guristas room was joke easy to do.

They still jam a lot...But there are fewer jammers or none in some cases that use to be there.

The missions /sites aren't near impossible because of them anymore..Just back to being annoying at times or the occasional re-lock.

Belt rats are different from plexs rats, belt rats jam a lot more and for a newbie still in hes drake most interesting plexs are offlimit, some people also dont have the time to run plexs and prefer to belt rat, some people even ( i know this may come as a shock ) have only 1 account and cant use their alts to make it easier for them

Point is belt rating is for some people a very important source of income and as it is right now you pray not to get the 3 battleship 1.1 spawn because of the heavy jamming that no ECCM seem to counter, compare this with Serpentis rats that only dampen you while at the same time coming at close range ...

Belt rats jam. A lot.

Nothing is worse than 2 jamming BSs, as soon as you knock off one of their shields, you're jammed and by the time you relock, they have repped back up.

Highly frustrating

Certain Cruisers/Battleships still jam but they don't do it over and over again like they used to though there's a lot less Jamming Battleships/Cruisers in Guristas missions. So they balanced it but I never faced a Guristas Jamming Battleship in a Mining Field in Low/Null Sec though I wouldn't want to be Perma Jammed like it was in The Assault, and whatever else you get for Guristas missions though the Serpentis are much more annoying since they can cut down your Optimal Range and keep on doing it A LOT; its more annoyin' than being jammed....

I hate the Serpentis more than the Guristas Now.

Good news for tengu fitting :

doing 10 times assault lvl 4 mission. using ECCM II multispectral in mid slot. never get jammed even stand still not move an inch.

doing 6 time intercept saboteurs lvl 4 mission guristas. same fit, 1 times get jammed in overall mission.

so 16 mission guristas only annoyed 1 times.

using ECCM multispectral II in any means helped a lot than eccm gravimetric II.

doing assault with t1 scourge hml easy pick good bounty although not good salva and loot.

ECCM might be good and fine, but if it screws whole fits? I put in an eccm, when the mission itself is re-designed to cover the eccm gap, like weaker resistances for the npc's. Otherwise just leave them - you dont need to do them.
