The more I think about it, the more I know what a disaster it would be. WH pos's would no longer be viable, especially the c5-c6 crowd. T2 would be beyond the reach of most people. I hope this is just a bad idea that hopefully won't happen. But after years of Bernake, it always seems the dumber the ruinous idea is. the more it is to inevitably be done. |

Edited by: BigCountry on 04/08/2011 19:45:41 I was one of the onair DJs interviewing Soundwave for the eve vegas event... And he did say one thing he has on his mind to do is move ice out of empire...
Also I mentioned on air just the other day ,taht while im fine with them just straight moving it all to 0.0, it owuld prolly be better to drastically reduce the amount of ice that spawns in hisec ice belts, so they make actually be poppable and you would have to move to another system or what for a weekly respawn, and do the same thing to low sec ice, only that would hold more ice before it pops.. and then just spawn more belts in 0.0
I also brought up to Soundwave the idea of hidden grav sites taht could also be ice belts.. he wasnt terribly opposed to the idea..
Obviously ppl who live in empire and make their money on ice mining are gonna cry if they mess with it , the same as any other part of this game.. but i dont think moving all ice out to 0.0 will break the game.. |

I want to see all ice in low-sec only. That would give that unloved place a reason to exist. |

CCP need to look at things like this from a purely business perspective; mercenary I know but also neccessary. The fact of the matter from that viewpoint is that the majority of the games subscribers are not in nullsec but out there in low and high sec. The more they take away from the majority to give to the minority the worse it will be in the long run for the health of the game as a whole. This is just simple maths.
Another fact of gaming life is that the majority of players don't give a damn about hardcore PvP and you only need to look at what has happened to other MMO's that used hardcore PvP as their backbone for the proof of that; they are either in trouble with very low subscriber numbers or have already shut down completely. CCP need to sit down and do some serious thinking about which direction they intend to take the game in the future. |

I don't think you realize that the majority of players don't spend thousands and even tens of thousands of dollars many times over to purchase isk. The minority in nullsec do. Those in null tend to purchase massive isk to fund their operations. They're not all "working" for it. |
