Playing devils advocate here, but it might be that CCP has plans for FW that involve DUST, and any major changes now might upset DUST development. Because I can't see DUST being only nulsec.
Another possibility is that CCP has realized that Faction Warfare is a bust, and is possibly deciding not to expend more resources in that route. They can't just tell the playerbase this, though, as it would significantly effect FW numbers (which are already low), and they may prefer to leave it in-game as is to let those who do enjoy it for what it is to continue to do so, with the option of coming back to it later.
But I ain't CCP. |

Did you see the topic I linked to? 17 pages, 496 replies, many many bumps and 42837 views of the thread. Also, one of the FW CSM proposals got position 38 of 169 topics (with 6.82% of the vote). Considering some of the higher topics were general "fix XYZ" which effects the whole game (e.g. Corp/Alliance interface/roles etc...), that is a fairly significant response. So actually, I do think people care... |

I also agree that its time CCP put sometime into FW, when it was first released it seemed like it would have a big part to play in EVE but it has just been left and forgotten and it looks like most of the guys from CCP are just turning a blind eye to it.
FW could be so much more than it is and be something for the people who have had enough of, or dont want to be involved in 0.0 warfare, so come on CCP give us something atleast. |

Maybe they'll just kill the current FW mechanics and replace it with a variety of the Incursion mechanics.
Then you can fight for and against the success of a current assault on a constellation of one or the other faction.
LPs will be given out for participation in cleaning opponent's sites or for keeping a site alive for a certain time frame or something. No more mission grinding. |

I was under the impression that FW was a "poisoned chalice" within CCP. Wasn't Noah Ward totally against the whole idea?
Anyway you aren't going to get anything done to FW. Too few people participate (other than missioning) for it to be on the "to do" list. I mean the REAL "to do" list, not the public CSM-friendly list. |

Why do you think that is? People keep coming for some pew pew and then often leave as they get bored with the BS mechanics that are killing it - Mission farming, plex spawning issues, people doing all sorts of exploits etc... Yet they do keep popping in and out over time... If CCP actually did some serious work on FW, it would be THE major source of small gang PvP in the game... |

FW PvP is a much better source of PvP for both new and experienced players than most of the 0.0 PvP which consists of little initiative and mostly just following bellowed commands in some 0.0 coalition fleet.
WH PvP, while being generally more challenging however is too difficult for new players, in addition to the steep skill requirements just to survive in there.
FW is already fun, if some of the annoying bugs/exploits would be fixed, and a change to the occupation system, it would be the greatest gap between high and nullsec. |

I 100% support this thread and any thread like it. For the love of marry CCP you wrote a book about Faction Wars and then left it to wither away? I think anything that is important to write a book about should be important enough to develope apon or at least give us a strait ****ing answer. Team BFF(Best Friends Fail) could focus on the little things and maybe that would mean faction wars. Strait answers we want them NOW! "We will develope apon FW" or "We here by discontuine you the public function known as faction wars effective immedately."

I agree but it isn't going to happen. I am of the opinion that FW is the unwanted child and always has been. Even were it not the numbers of people in FW mean its a niche activity. If CCP didn't have two other games in dev then you might have a chance but we all know the reality of Eve development activity means that is extremely unlikely. |

The developer who rectifies the post DT plex rush problem by distributing the plex re-spawns over whole day will get to smoke unlimited waterpipe if/when he/she visits Istanbul. |

My corp tried to sign up for that maybe 6 or 7 months ago. I said quite plainly that I would not participate at all, simply because of the standings hit I would take.
That aside though, I would still rather just go into low sec and look for someone to shoot at rather than signing up with a militia... |
