Simple question with what is undoubtedly a complicated answer. What is the most valuable region (0.0, non-NPC space) of EVE?

Metrics:
Strategic - How easy is it to hold? Does it have connections to hisec? Compact (easy to cyno in) or spread out (longer travel time)?
Rats - Which kinds of rats do they have? Many people say that Serpentis is inferior (I have some doubts about this). The real sub-question here is - which rats are the most valuable (per time spent) to kill?
Moons - Pretty self-explanatory. Tech moons add an enormous amount of value to an area.
Security Status - Again, obvious advantages to having more -1.0 systems.
Other - Does it have access to L5 missions? Other concerns here.

And the meta question - Which region of EVE, given the current 0.0 politics, is most valuable and why?

Curious to see your answers.

A difficult question indeed, could only be answered by someone who tried all regions and tried all activities mentioned.

From my experience, I can only compare Guristas, Angels and Serpentis Space - PVE in missile boats (kinetic dmg)

* Guristas have jamming, decently easy to tank and their 10/10 drop pith-x type loot which can make a lucky guy rich.
* Serpentis have ****ty ewar unless you are sniping, are extremely easy to tank by t2/t3 caldari boats but their 10/10 is (apparently) the most mediocre of them all - doable solo too
* Angels are the hardest to tank of all the 3, take maybe 1 more volley to kill but have a decent 10/10 that is easy to complete and farm in a group. Drops Gist-x type loot which sells quite well.

* I hear the north have more better moons (tech) (Guristas/Serps)

* -1.0 systems are usually very far from empire, so require more logistics to bring in ammo/mods/ships

Hope this helps a bit

The interesting thing is that there should be a theoretical limit to how much can be extracted from a region (with the exception of maybe ice, since the roids don't really deplete or regular ore since gravimetric sites respawn). Alliances tend to be pretty bad at exploiting those resources to their fullest though (with the exception of the [allegedly] botting Russian alliances).

The key isn't to have the 'best' space. The key is joining alliances that dev alts are in, so when they nerf your enemy's space, you aren't affected.

Looking at the map though, Delve is very tough to defend. Blood Raiders are also tough to fight against (but their loot and salvage is pretty nice, so there is that).

So while it does really well in resources, it is not as desirable from a logistical perspective. Anyone occupying it is going to face serious contention at some time or another. And if you look at the history of Delve, this is very true.

I'm not saying it's a bad region, just that this has to be taken into account when we consider value.

Venal/Tribute is nice for Moon income, boasting well over 100 moons that earn about 6-7 billion/month EACH

Deklein has some nice overall true sec, so its OK for the members.

Delve/Fountain have whats known as 'broken truesec' meaning every system acts as a 1.0 system for determining the frequency of officer and faction spawns (dark blood spawns literally rain from the heavens) and is by far the two best regions for individual member wealth.

Drone Regions have the highest average true sec above the .5 threshold and produce an obscene amount of minerals if you have any form of industrial wing, thats where you want to go.

Every other region is literally crap in comparison to those.

Confirming this, Syndicate is so broken it's ridiculous. I made 2 billion in about 3 hours of ratting in Syndicate space.

The most valuable region in EVE is:
- the region that your enemy holds if you are not happy with your own
- the region that you hold if you are happy with it

If there was an actual "the most valuable region", alliances would be fighting over one region all the time. Wink

Not to mention you can macro rat/mine and never get caught/penalized, since there is no measurable way to see how much you have killed/earned.

Pure Blind, because it has the most technetium moons. And technetium is clearly not broken, according to CCP, just insanely valuable.

venal is most value in terms of moons
deklein i would say in terms of sec status, but Stain as an npc region is great

rats are always best in either venal or stain

Strategic hmm depends, curse is a great region for 'getting to other regions'

Maybe Venal has more tech than Pureblind. Whatevs. They're both gold mines.

p.s. moons are in no way a broken mechanic that should be revisited

Outer Ring is a joke.
Bad ss, serpentis rats (hi 1m shadow plate), ****ty roids (mostly Jaspet), Ore stations/agents.
It's like Syndicate but far from Empire space.

So why are you posting this in the "Most Valuable Region in EVE" thread? :durr:

Wormhole space :)

More seriously, it depends upon how you define "valuable."

If my alliance were making a move into nullsec, our highest priority - hence what we would deem as "most valuable" to us - would be a section of space that is easier to defend, for example an area that is bit out of the way with minimal gates to patrol, with neighbors we can befriend (or at least mutually tolerate!)

From there, the currently available resources would be our next determination (is there enough "stuff" for us to do to make us all richer already in place?) and what it would take to improve the resources.

Knowing my alliance's players and style of play, I know that what we would find "valuable" isn't what others would find "valuable." While using metrics to determine valuation of a particular area of space is a valid measure, it should not be the only measure - nor necessarily the primary measure of value.

I lived in Delve for years and I have seen this myth retold many times.
The true-sec is not broken, it is just that systems with NPC sovereignty are treated as being -1. That is true of all NPC space in 0.0 and is not exclusive to Delve or Fountain.

The advantage of Delve is that you can NPC effectively with lasers, which save on ammo cost and the logistics of ammo supply, that's all.

You really shouldn't buy in to your own propaganda.

Well as I'm new to nullsec, what effective difference is there between NPC and Alliance space with regards to making isk? Is there any?

Wormhole space :)

This.

C3 is easily doable with 3 people. You make a billion a week (if you share with your friends) and if someone unfriendly jumps in, just warp to your safespot and logoff.
