I'd like to know. I've changed graphics cards more than a few times over the past 8 years, and I'll be doing so again soon. It seems like every time I end up with some problem or issue that makes it a less-than-perfect experience.
So, I don't care what they reccomend, I'd like to know what they actually use. Here's hoping for a response. |

i got an hd 5850 and the game runs fine on max settings (outside of fleet battles) |

Fixing to buy a new system as my laptop is basically dead; won't run EvE longer than time enough to swap skills and certainly won't run CQ--so I've been most hesitant on the GFX card part of the system with recent hardware issues associated with Incarna.

This sounds familiar, let me guess pre-incarna your laptop ran eve fine? /emote wishes CCP would stop screwing with this game, would rather they did nothing to it than using it as WoD beta |

Safe bet is on an nvidia card. Get as high end of one as you can afford.
The "Trick" with video cards is to get them when they've just hit reasonable price points(EG: $150-$200 range but still be a new enough chipset that it's going to be usefull for 2 years. |

Eve is always optimised for intel motherboards and nvidia cards, amd mobos and ati cards usually experience issues with badly optimised expansions. Most people experiencing severe issues with CQ (overheating) are running the game on amd mobos, ati cards or both.
Not saying anything bad about Ati, just that CCP doesn't work well with them. |

They use nvidia.
Do some research, find a good deal on a good card, and enjoy not being **** on every expansion. :) |

It's all rather different what cards everybody has in their machine at the office. But in my workstation, I have a GTX 275. Note that I don't have much of an opinion on what is a good graphics card. But that's the card I was given for work  |

It doesn't really matter if they; don't spend hours playing the game, use more than one client or have settings on low/etc.
If none of that matters to you then disregard.

I, too, am using this card in my system although it's technically the bottleneck for the system. I7-950 processor, 6GB DDR 12800 RAM and some other good stuff... just waiting to upgrade the card. Anyway I push 60 fps or more in space and between 45-50 fps in station with CQ loaded. |

Yeah figured as much about nvidia...the build I'm looking at comes with a EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti which I've been told is decent enough. |
