CCP buttkissers out there love to say,
"Quit complaining, nobody is forcing you to use CQ/Nex/play dress up"

Nobody can force you to use the features, no - but they still effect you.
Here's how:

A) PLEX consumers.
The NEX store is designed for one reason only - to vaporize PLEX, which forces the ISK-price of them up. (Yes, the NEX store is broken and PLEX has fallen somewhat since Incarna was release, but that is only because CCP is running on 100% failjuice right now.)

Any player who funds his EVE time via PLEX will pay more for the game, just so other people can play dress up or monocle-grief.

Fun fact: just a couple short years ago, you could buy a 90 day GTC for about 320M ISK!

B) PVPers.
Or anyone who favored a reasonably quick, functional 'hangar' which allows you to dock, change ships, use multiple clients with a minimum of time wasted and fuss. When time is of the essence, CQ is fail.

Removing the hangar and replacing it with a far less functional 'door' was simply a punitive move against players who don't want to deal with the MT-interface in any way.

Fun fact: this is exactly the tactic used by Barack Obama's TSA when they introduced the highly unpopular 'nude-scanner' feature last fall. Don't want to go through the 'nude-o-scope'? Then you get your junk/crotch/boobs fondled. Don't like it? Then "don't fly". Protesting gets you escorted out in handcuffs in your underwear, often facing criminal charges.

Both Obama and Hilmar subscribe to the "We know what is best for you, sheep - you are just too stupid to realize it." worldview. And both are baffled when people throw a fit.

C) Anyone who expects periodic new content and timely bug/balance fixes.
Time wasted on NEX and CQ (let alone Dust and WoD), is time that could have been spent on improving the game. Further, valuable design space was WASTED with the MT-implementation of 'clothing'.

Clothes COULD have been produced 'in game', dropped by officer NPCs, sold for ISK, and actually have had an impact on your abilities and stats. (Kind of like implants, but visible to other people - offering ransom/PVP possibilities) "Thats a purty monocle you got there, you want to keep it?"

But no, instead clothing is non-interactive, costs $$$, does nothing in game, and is not destructible. WASTE OF DESIGN SPACE.

EVE Barbie types/CCP Alts/buttkissers are like those insufferable Green activists who are always screaming for motorists fuel-tax dollars to be reallocated to **** like bicycle lanes/trails, traffic 'calming' projects, and high-speed rail. Liberal politicians oblige them, and now less money is available for, you know, improving the road network that 95% of America (motorists) relies on. Traffic jams and extended 0.0-supercarrier disfunction results.

Most of us don't care about dressing up, because we realize it is completely irrelevant to the actual game.

Forget about 'new content' - why are we pouring entire dev cycles into 'stuff that doesn't matter' while there are entire areas of the 'actual game' that are in desperate need of some TLC.

TLDR; Hilmar is turning into a clueless elitist like Obama. His philosophy will also lead CCP to ruin.

You were doing fine up until the political commentary.

You might want to remove the unnecessary and silly Obama/liberal/green/etc. verbiage before the thread gets locked.

So what I am supposed to gather from this is that there is an environmentalist/liberal/black people agenda to ruin eve by making clothes instead of expansions and forcing PVP'ers to use a door?

Your first point is actually good, but the rest of it is pure crap.

You can remove the docking interface completely, so it is optional for PVP'ers.

A) you just admitted that plex haven't gone up noticeably since incarna. But they're gonna! Right?! Just like the boogie monster in the closet is gonna get you if your mommy doesn't check it before you go to sleep!

2) the door is a temporary fix for performance issues. It's going away, and some form of hangar/spinning is coming back. But you've gone and confused yourself because cq is, in fact optional. You just don't happen to like the option. The rest of you political bs is irrelevant because this game doesn't actually have a real world function that can transport you across the planet earth. Nor is it possible for you to be physically blown up by terrorists while in warp.

7) timely bug fixes and balancing and content expansions happened every week before incarna and twice on sundays, and 13 times on Fridays that fell after thursdays, right? When was this golden age of eve when everything worked perfectly.and content fell like mana from heaven, and all the pvp was 1v1 and there were no scammers or isk buyers or Russians or goons? Prey tell, was it last year? The year before that? 1997?

Wow, the OP has pretty much no idea how things are working.

A: True, plex can go into the NEX, and this will modify the price, but your "Fun Fact" is pretty irreverent. Before Incarna even I was able to sell a 90 day GTC for upwards of 600m. The price fluctuates on more than just NEX. If you are angry about this, then anytime a new vendor starts selling GTC, GTC sellers should be up in arms because it leads to more sales on the market and a price drop. It's all economics.

B: There is still the option to disable the CQ, but doesn't load up the spinning spaceship option. In defense of the OP, I do not know what it actually loads, as I have my station loading anyhow and I am in 0.0 space in a PVP corp. I haven't had any trouble aside from not being able to dual box on my current system. THAT is annoying, but I have found ways to deal with it instead of *****ing on forums. (not a direct attack on the OP, he is far from the only person *****ing).

C: Clearly you have no idea how a game company works. Or even just software development. They will still have a team on bug fixing and content, but you put too many people on it and you end up with logistical nightmares. Too many cooks in the kitchen as it were.

As for you anger about Dust and WoD, just because you apparently aren't interested in those games doesn't mean no one cares. I personally am looking forward to both titles.

And in response to "But no, instead clothing is non-interactive, costs $$$, does nothing in game, and is not destructible. WASTE OF DESIGN SPACE." - Who is to say these options won't show up in the future? Do you want them throwing clothes in that are only dropped by PVP spawns that affect stats but the whole system breaks. Let the bugs get worked out in a system that has no direct effect on the core gameplay.

I'm not saying I want to see that, I think the clothes and such should stay Vanity, but the key here is THEY DON'T AFFECT GAMEPLAY! As such if you don't like it, don't participate. They even mentioned when they started down the Incarna path that they had added new artists and such to the team, which means they aren't taking much from the core dev team for this.

Now:

In support of your stuff:
I agree that there are systems in the game in dire need of tweeking, and hope that CCP will release some info on the state of those redesigns/fixes, but I understand that they aren't going to just up and release all information. Once it is in a state to announce, we will hear more.

As for all your useless political rambling, really dude. I highly doubt anyone here gives two ****s about your political views.

1) Had CCP not botched pricing, hacked off the playerbase and cost themselves thousands of paying accounts/alts/PLEX consumers, yes PLEX would have gone up. Not my fault that CCP sucks at encouraging more people to play the game.

2) I can tell the concept of an analogy eludes you. "Oh, the two cases are not EXACTLY the same, so its invalid". If the two cases ARE exactly the same, then its no longer an analogy, genius. And CQ is optional, for now. The door was merely punitive, as keeping the original hangar in place would have suited a lot of people just fine. My guess is they'll include 'ship spinning' into CQ, proving that they are being intentionally obtuse - people didn't miss the 'spinning' they missed the simple, functional hangar.

3) I'd say around Apocrypha. That would put the date at around, oh, 2009. Interesting new content, new scanning, relatively trouble free implementation. More or less what I'd expect out of an expansion.

i like how the OP was somehow able to stick a bash on Obama in his post. like its his fault we are stuck in the current economic troubles.

Also i never saw a problem with the body scanner. sure, the guy could see my *****, but it had no distinguishing features like hair or eye color. just a giant gray blob, which if posted on the internet, would be indistinguishable from other grey blobs,

On topic, it sounds like the op is still attempting to fight for a cause no one cares about anymore since we have what was pretty much a written promise for no Gold ammo. some forum goers are always going to complain i guess.

Yes, in EvE every major action or mechanic effects other players, and I will always acknowledge that.

Being said, I have an interesting comment for your 'pvp' section: Mainly, do you think Incarna may be a convenient stealth nerf to the docking games, more basic bots, and even alt abusers?

That's my personal feeling on it. I love ship spinning as much as the next vet, but station games were getting ******ed and I have felt for a long time that they were an abuse of the mechanics, if not so much that it required an immediate fix, at least enough that it distorted intended gameplay design.

Bots are another issue, and while this can't fix the higher end bots that do a lot more than simply screen click, the basic ones are drastically affected. For how long? Probably not long enough, but any hamper on third party RMT helps.

And alt abusers? Sure, CCP doesn't want to lose our precious alts, but how much better would the game be if they were less functional for dual-boxers and alt-tabbers? So what happens when CCP wants to change this, without initiating a much larger cancellation of second account spies and remote reppers, etc?

All in all, I think your kicking the wrong door. I mean, I find the call of CCP spending every dime on nothing but space flight to be fairly short sighted and ignorant of the whole process of game design to boot. It takes more than money to make a great game, and throwing more money OR more developers at a program doesn't mean it'll get better ... in fact, it's proven that the vast majority of the time it does just the opposite.
