It's come to my attention that many people are feeling quite significantly upset and disaffected to find out that from today their wallet will be sullied by unwelcome blue numbers where before there was only the pristine white of ISK. This is a terrible state of affairs causing untold pain and anguish. You don't deserve to suffer such torment; if only there was some way to just get rid of your unasked for Aurum.
Well, friends, I'm here to offer you a totally free* solution allowing you to remove the distressing new addition to your wallet and returning everything to the way you liked it before. I'm offering my services, totally free* of charge, to take receipt of your Aurum in the form of Men's 'Precision' Boots! That's right, my friend, it's really as simple as that! There's virtually no effort on your part and no cost** whatsoever; I'll take all the risks and you won't have to worry about a thing!
Simply go to the NeX store (you won't need to spend more than a minute in that wretched place, and afterwards you need never go there again - wouldn't it be worth it to go just once, for a mere 60 seconds, to free yourself of this burden of Aurum?). Spend your despised currency on a single pair of Men's 'Precision' Boots. And then contract them to me. Within 24 hours I'll have collected the boots and will dispose of them appropriately and you, dear friend, will have no more Aurum to tease your eyes with its naughty cyan numerals!
Why wait a minute longer? You know it makes sense.
* Services provided by Talon Adrasti are completely free. You may be charged a small fee by your contract broker. ** 'No cost' means 'free' (see proviso above) |

The cost is the use of the NEX store which I wish to have nothing to do with. GTFO stupid. |

The best option currently is to petition for their removal. |

Any confirmation that this actually works? Don't want to tie up a petition slot if they are just going to ignore it (well more than they ignore them already.) +1 to OP for upholding the EVE tradition of the sandbox. But sorry - to trash for me. |

Their game. Their content. Their right to modify as they please. At least that is how I see it. |

We have aurum they gave us? I wouldn't have known about this had it not been for the forums. Guess I let it sit there and rust away in hopes that they keep giving us enough so that I can convert it back to isk or plex or whatever it was and use said plex or buy one. |

Your Account, and all attributes of your Account, including all corporations, actions, groups, titles and characters, and all objects, currency and items acquired, developed or delivered by or to characters as a result of play through your Accounts, are the sole and exclusive property of CCP, including any and all copyrights and intellectual property rights in or to any and all of the same.
They own it, they have the right do what they want. If you don't support the NEX, then don't buy anything or add money to it by purchasing AUR yourself. There is no reason to be angry that you got free AUR. People seem to think CCP will say "look at all the AUR in the system, clearly they love it" now that they have given out over 3million in AUR, but it is known that a lot was just given out, and they will be called on it. People need to stop freaking and use common sense on this. (That part isn't an attack on you TertiaryAdjunct, just a general issue I have noticed). |

Well, I was really aiming for the general tradition of humourous sarcasm as a gentle nudge at people taking a game (and specifically an entirely optional part of a game) completely too seriously. That said, I'm still quite happy to embrace the Eve sandbox tradition and collect any boots people want to give me. Would it help if I offered to jettison them all in Jita, one at a time, in a futile gesture of figuratively and literally throwing my toys out of the pram? |

They announced it and AUR has been in for a good period now. Accepting the game by default accepts the currency. Only way to truly show opposition to it is to cancel your account. |

This is true. Unfortunate but true. Someone else did post earlier in the day that they had successfully petitioned for its removal but given the claimed rapid response this may well have been a trollish attempt to get people to spam petitions. |

Well, the part where you choose not to use it I guess, that would be the 'option' part of 'optional'. Seriously though, 'morally opposed'? Really? We're not talking about forcing you to kill babies to buy clothes here, we're talking about a currency designed for microtransactions which you don't have to use and which confers no benefit except to your ego if you do. I don't think it's healthy to let yourself get this worked up over something so massively unimportant in the grand scale of things. |
