Griefers have been a long-standing problem in EvE CCP has chosen to allow them total unrestricted access to harass and chase off new players to the game while I can totally understand them not wanting to alter the dynamics of the game by giving any new players a level playing field or anything even remotely close to that it is ludicrous for them to not notice that older players abuse their place in the game to the point where they chase off a large portion of new players. If EvE is to survive in the highly competitive market of online gaming they need to come to grips with this situation. They will continue to lose a large portion of the market to retain a very small percentage of older players CCP really needs to rein in that small percentage within the game that's chasing away the future of EvE. CCP wake up this is a business if you don't manage it correctly you will not surviveSad

tl;dr: Eve is dying and it's CCP's fault.

I thought six feet was the closest anyone could get to this dead horse, looks like I was wrong.

If you really think this dude, Eve is not the game for you. People have spouted the same rhetoric you are spewing now since this game came out. Fact is, Eve's population has still grown despite this.

Fortune cookie for OP,

Embrace the sandbox. Play harder and find a way to overcome your issues. That way you will get your satisfaction.

Alternatively, cry on the forums.

Firstly and most importantly - break up your goddamn paragraphs, you fraking n00b. Reading that irritated my eyes and you're extremely lucky I (or anybody else) am even bothering to post in this fail of a thread.

Secondly, you're suggesting a significant change to what Eve Online is. By making the change you're proposing, Eve Online will be forever changed and will never be the game it is now or will be. You're literally breaking the game completely and it will die.

I don't give two ****s if we attract and/or keep the majority of trial users. Eve Online appeals to a niche group of players. If it's too rough and too hard for someone, they can GTFO.

Bought game to be a hero.
Ended up as a peon.
FUUUUUUUUUU

There are plenty instant gratification mmos out there. CCP is doing a good thing cornering a market with a game not suited to adhd kids.

I can certainly see we have a split on opinions about gameplay older players who have decidedly greater advantage and would hate to see that erode away and new players who just want to enjoy the game I'm not a point and shoot instant gratification kind of guy the game is evolving as it should unfortunately it seems only for longtime players would like it to stay as it is which leaves new players struggling just to survive if you don't see anything wrong in that maybe you should look at yourself and remember when you first started in the game griefing by some corporations has escalated to an all-time art in which chasing away any possible threat to their dominance is the ultimate goal

And about beating a dead horse maybe the horse isn't dead yet maybe this keeps getting rehashed because it needs to be fixed it's a complicated problem and I'm sure there's a fair solution one thing about EvE though it's the first thing I learned there's nothing fair about EvE and who wants to play a game where the decks loaded against you

seriously, what do you expect?

That the same ships & fits that people, who have been playing/grinding for years, should be available to you from the start?
Grow up kiddo. As stated, this is a sweet niche game for a select group of people, and we really don't want the game dumbed down.

If you want to compete with the top from day 1, go play World of Warcraft or something where they actually shower you with stuff and walk you hand by hand through everything.

Got blown to pieces? suck it up, get a new ship, a better ship, heck even make some friends and blow the crap out of them. If you can't handle that, wow is that way ---->

This system has been in place for almost a decade now so if it was harmfull to the game I think we would have noticed by now.

Spivey you need to watch the Permaband HTFU video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgvM7av1o1Q

I came to EVE two years ago from City of Heroes/Villians. After watching the video I understood EVE and never looked back.

okay you're not listening I'm not saying change the game so that every newbie has the same advantages I think there should be a learning curve and I do think it should be lengthy what I am saying is the game should be enjoyable for everybody not just guys that have been playing it for four years sure you're having a great time pew pew the game is a lot easier for you and you sure seem to enjoy it now what you do with that power use it abuse it there doesn't seem to be any repercussions for sick minded individuals who get off blowing up players who are practically defenseless sure you don't see any problem with that did you get bullied growing up and its your turn to do the bullying all I'm saying is even the playing field enough that new players at least stand a chance it's completely out of tilt

I had fun since day one. EVE is a sandbox and the fun you have is what you make of it.

You need to stop this crying crap about being griefed, HTFU and find some friends or you will continue to be the entertainment of someone's EVE evening for AS LONG AS YOU PLAY THIS GAME.

Your choice. Anything other than acceptance of this is essentially asking to be griefed more.

So you got suicide ganked I take it or war decced. Let's dispel the notion that you need to play this game for years to do such a thing, it's actually not very skill intensive and is more beneficial to the game as a whole than negative.

As a player in highsec you need to be aware that highsec does not imply safety, it implies consequences for actions and that's really about it. Wanna transport stuff without taking precaution or just afk your way around? you might lose your boat. Want to mine without a tank in .5-.8? you might lose your boat. Highsec is not there to be your 24/7 invincible isk faucet that holds and coddles you ffs. Inflation is already terrible enough without the bleeding hearts wanting even more handouts.

The mechanics have been sound for quite a long time and the only changes made have benefited the risk adverse quite a bit.

quoting for fail! Rolling Eyes

1. griefers don't have an unrestricted access of harrasing newbs, as doing so in starter systems is bannable offense
2. npc starter corps anyone?
3. confirming that "large portion of new players" chased off by older players Laughing, wouldn't stick to eve anyway. They flee to WOW and alike(no pun intended)
4. eve is competitive on the gaming market because of it's hardness, complexity and depth. Also you seem fail to see eve is "surviving" on the market for over 8 years now lols
5. confirming they will continue to lose a large portion of market due to the fact eve attracts a specific type of players, who make a smaller portion of gaming market. Incarna tries to mitigate that
6. the future of eve, is it's core playerbase. Eve is not "here today, gone tomorrow" kinda game

Older players want to chase off the newer players. That's the point. Empire is not a sandbox where you can make the rules. CCP makes the rules in empire. Older players don't like empire, new players, or CCP. You can expect more griefing sir.
