If you are not happy with the CSM's and I've read a lot of ppl saying that Mittani is smug

Then it's simple, vote them out at the next election, who is in the CSM is one area where we the playerbase can have a say

I know that when the next elections come up, I will take more notice of it and vote

The only candidates you can vote for are ones which have already been "CCP approved".

The CSM is Democratic in the exact same way that Iran is... moreso than the US but less than Brazil.

What? Would you mind expanding on this? I've never paid that much attention to the CSM until recently. In fact I can't even find a list of who is on the CSM right now. :(

It's a thinly-veiled Old Boy network, contrary to a preferred self-characterization of being above such uncool things. (We listen to electric guitars, not pedal steel, we must be more advanced in our thinking...see: self-delusion.)

The dead give-away was how chummy they were on their recent "emergency" visit to the last Viking bastion. Clue 2: CSMs rather vehemently shouted down a suggestion of one-person-one-vote democracy. (Where have I heard this before...let's see The United $tate$ was it?) Yes, we have the technology. Let's not use it here.

The CSMs don't represent me. They don't even know who I am, and they take pride in that. They're so "exclusive" (see: exclude.) I thought it was funny, however, how conveniently at hand they were to mollify the crowd - and how the rigged tournament this year has been drowned by this present comic uproar.

I do remember the candidates around Heimatar dropping in and acting so aloof and cool in Local for us. We were left rapt, like Liz herself dropped by. Oh yes, and they were appropriately diffident and stand-offish about answering any questions that didn't have to do with 0.0, a place they were obviously NOT.

It doesn't take a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

Oh, the insanely difficult approval process of having an active EVE account, a valid passport, scanning it and attaching it to your application.
Oh, whatever shall you do, that's, like, nearly impossible, isn't it ?
I mean, if you're a brain in a vat or something.

Why would I have a passport?

I don't have a valid passport right now either (my last one expired a couple of years ago and didn't need one since Romania joined the EU, because I didn't want to go anywhere outside the EU), but I could get one for a token payment and two trips to the appropriate office spaced one week apart (first to drop the paperwork and have my photo taken, second to pick it up when done).

You're an idiot and clearly don't understand the structure of your own government. The US is a Republic with democratically elected representatives. To do what you suggest requires a complete rewrite of the constitution. The founding fathers never wanted a direct democracy and structured the government this way to remove direct voting because people inherently are stupid when voting.

If you're unhappy with this CSM all you have to do is form an alliance, recruit thousands of members, train one of those members to talk out of his ass, and make sure he gets hired by CCP as lead designer for flying in space. Then get all your members to vote for you and you will have as much influence over the game as Alex and Kris do.

That's all.

Or, I guess you could program your own Internet Spaceships sandbox game from scratch. Yeah, see, there are 2 ways to do it.

you do realise you could elect the finest CSM the game had to offer, a wise collection from across all of eve representing us all and using logic and reason to come up with the finest solution to each problem.... they would still be ccp's little puppet show *****es and have to do as they are told.

your arguing over a non issue, kinda the whole point of the CSM i suppose so its working well. we all shout and hiss at the puppets while the people holding the strings stay out of sight.

Not so. CSM V didn't do what they were told. What the latest protest lacked was a clear leader with clear demands. A competent CSM with integrity could have provided that and prevented MT for non-vanity items and made Incarna optional (at a minimum.)

I don't know that I would vote for you, no offense Chribba. It's just that I don't know how I feel about the game taking itself in a direction further toward veldspar Wink lol jk. Honestly though, you would make a good CSM in aspect to the many changes that could and need to be made for mining. And I would seriously throw a vote your way if you went for a mining expertise csm position.

i just dont see how. someone up there (i dont claim to know who) that makes the big decisions at ccp decided MT was a good way to turn a quicker buck, so in it goes. if some spotty oik pokes his head above the surface and shouts "i disagree" they arent going to write it off.

if the CSM doesnt agree with what they are doing they will do it anyway, if enough of a fuss is kicked up i imagine they would just remove the CSM alltogether "was a good experiment, but its reached its end...". sorry to play down everyones ego's but we dont dictate policy to ccp. they make it, we either buy into it or we dont. and if we dont, someone else will.

Considering elected CSM members have to fly to Iceland at least once during their 1-year mandate (probably more than once), sounds like you wouldn't have wanted to be a CSM member anyway, so...
P.S.
...unless you already live in Iceland.

I doubt that though I would love if that had been their goal or at least railed for those things. CCP is set in their stupid direction of what they think is right along with being chained to WOD/Dust so certain things are nearly 'set in stone' but at least CSM6 could have fought for those things and come off as being representatives of the players and less as being shills for CCP.

I know that is a harsh critique of them but honestly the 'unified' message speaks to me as capitulation and very little if any defiance, as a body CSM6 seems like a joke. Individual members, just a few, seem to still speak for the players as opposed to CCP or at least show they actually care.

Actually it would be an honor representing the community, and I want to, however I have so far felt that I don't have the proper amount of time to set aside for CSM to be able to give the effort it deserves. So I have decided to not run until such a time when I can give it, and the community the full attention to push for the right changes.

You vastly overestimate how much power the CSM has to affect change at CCP.

Your

Your is the second person possessive adjective, used to describe something as belonging to you. Your is nearly always followed by a noun.

What is your name?

Is this your pen?

Your book is on the table.

This is your chair and this is mine.

What happened to your dog?

Your being here is causing some problems.

You're

You're is the contraction of "you are" and is often followed by the present participle (verb form ending in -ing).

You're going to be late.

Is that what you're wearing?

I think you're lying.

If you're ready, we can go.

I can't believe you're a doctor!

When you're my age, you'll understand.

The Bottom Line

The confusion between your and you're occurs because the two words are pronounced pretty much the same.

The ironclad rule - no exceptions - is that if you're able to replace the word with "you are," you're saying you're. Otherwise, your only choice is your.
