Right now 1/3 of the threads on page one of General Discussion are stickied. This leaves only 18 slots (instead of the intended 27) for discussion. A thread can be knocked off the first page in just a few minutes.

Once a thread gets knocked off the first page it gets read by an extremely small number of people compared to those on the first page. This is understandable but can really inhibit proper discussion and communication.

Stickied threads should be in addition to the regular threads so that no matter how many stickied threads there are there are always 24 regular threads instead of the current 18. I would even advocate to increasing this number further.

OFC you only really notice this problem when a thread you care about gets pushed down too fast. Like this one about a new Aeon model idea.

Mass testing thread is outdated from almost a month ago.

Then you have yet another student seeking gamers to participate in their survey.

Some others could probably go but those are two obvious sort of pointless stickies at the moment.

There are 9 stickies, and 18 regular threads

9+18=27

27 total slots =/= 24 intended slots. Please explain your math.

Please explain your math.

Any explanation I could give would be completely nonsensical seeing as my conclusion was incorrect.

Well TBH, 9 is 1/3 of 27 so you were correct in that 1/3 of the threads are stickies. It is also possible you just made a typo if you used the numeric keypad to type the numbers as 4 is just below 7 and would be quite easy to mistype without catching it.
