...what ships would you want? I mean ships for new roles, like ships which would have smartbomb bonuses (10% bonus to large smartbomb damage per...)

What do you guys think?

P.S. also what new roles could you think of.

True but this community sux too much to understand it liek... what we need is dev time for aurum and custom order changes and if liek CCP do not put my pink fluffy pony in game, what I vae paid designer man hours for, should be EULA violation... go go CCP,

Strategic Battlecruiser, something that would make the Tengu look like a pitiful POS when it came to mission whoring. And I want it to have insane ship requirements like everything thats required for the strategic cruisers, command ships V, and AWU V and a few others just so it takes so freaking long to get in.

I'm thinking something close to the Tengu bounus's for the changable things on it, but be able to have 7 launcher hardpoints, 50m3 drone bay and a 1k cargohold for starters. Can't think of a good reaosn to impliment besides the fact that I love the NH and don't see a reason why to train the Tengu and I'm lost as to what else to train for after getting the last few useless skills up to V. As I love the NH to much and don't see myself flying anything else besides that and rifters.

The only roles I could think of that would be totally new would be ship interaction.

Ramming ships doing damage based on velocity. Loaded up with close range weapons, but not as many as a usual cruiser. They would have to use pilot skill and web tackle to ram someone and make up for the DPS difference.

Small ships that attaching to a larger one and apply some debuff, deal damage, steal cargo, offline modules, something interesting like that. The 'host' ship wouldn't be able to target them, but that's not far from a speed tank... details to be argued ad infinitum... and would go to group tactics. You'd have to let someone else shoot it off you. Missiles might track it on your hull but you'd take damage from them, as well as from the explosion of the 'parasite' ship as well when it popped. Whatever it could do to take cargo or do damage, it would still have to escape once it was finished, or be considered a suicide vessel.

A laser focus crystal ship for Amarr/Sansha would be neat. Like an interceptor type ship, with wicked speed and a tiny sig radius. If a larger ship shoots at it with a laser, that laser redirects to the frigate's target with a bonus to range, tracking, or damage depending on what crystal was mounted on it. Obviously tracking would prevent a larger ship from using it if it were moving, so it would have to decide when to stand still and when to move, or how to fly together keeping transversal down.

We have no drain skills in the game. Nos for cap, but nothing that leeches shields, armor, or hull from a target to repair your own ship. Would be a neat dynamic, especially if you did it to someone in your own fleet to stay alive.

I don't think there's a dedicated cloaky hunter. Something with a module or ability that would help it hunt for cloaked ships and uncloak them would be neat. Especially tricky if it was covops cloaky itself!





Drones seem shallow to me. They're just copying ship modules at the moment. They would be the first place I'd look for my above suggestions.

Draining shields or armor... fly over to the other guy and get it, then bring it back. Distance would decrease effectiveness due to flight time. They could also be what's used to go hunt cloaked enemies.

It's amazing to me that there are no anti-drone, drones. This seems like a really basic thing to add to help drone boats stay on top of their game. Someone else with drones but no extra space rolls up, you deploy your anti-drone drones you keep in your extra large drone bay and retake your advantage real quick, without actually giving you an overpowered offense. A hybrid rebalance would probably have to happen and be taken into consideration before adding this though since Gallente would be on top of the list.

I'd really love to see T3 frigates, I think that'd be sweet (and I'm drooling over the thought of something that can fight like an Ishkur and probe like a Helios, lol). Also T3 Mining Barges, something that can have a big cargo hold and can ore, ice, or gas mine and maybe warp around cloaked depending on the config (it couldn't ice better than a Mac though, or mine better than a Hulk, but it could do both of those as well as a Covie and then have bonuses so it was the best ship for gassing). And it'd be cool to have a mining ship you could use to do a bit of blockade running too (not as big as the T2 industrials, but still with some decent cargo hold).

I'd like to see the 2nd tier bc and the 3rd tier bs get a tech 2 version... particularly the bc, since those hulls are all reasonably attractive appearance wise.

Or a t2 drone battleship worth using, but that's more niche. (Sin is inferior to Dom, Navy Dom, or Rattler when not used for black ops purposes)

Why on earth would one use a Sin for something else than BO purposes?? Its not a general purpose ship, it has a very narrow role, it fits fine into.

More of what we have to little off atm

So more Destroyers (T1/T2 and faction) More DPS variations (T2/Faction) and one that can tank like a cruiser (T1?)

Same story for Battlecruisers, simply more of them (T1/T2 and faction) Faction Myrm (can use 5 heavies?!)

New ships:

I would like to have ships requiring 2 capsuleers/ship.

1 capsuleer would have navigational control and some minor guns/drones/mods.
1 capsuleer would only be able to control some special guns/mods/drones.

Would be a twice as powerful as another ship but killing one such ship would land 2 pilots in their pod.

I always liked the idea of a combat tender type of ship, basically an industrial with a maintenance bay allowing to restock dronebays of ships.

Maybe slots for remote armor and hull reppers to fix combat damage, ability to repair burned out modules in space and such?

It's not necessarilly a ship but I have thought about some sort of Battle Arena. . Maybe once they open up the station for everyone to walk around there could be some area you go to in order to join or set up a battle. If you are setting up the battle you would have choice of number of ships on each team and class of ships that could enter, skill point requirments, meta level requirements etc. The arenas would be non-accesable so that extra pilots couldn't jump in The battles but there would be options to watch. The battles would be kind of like the alliance tournaments. Maybe even some kind of quartly tournament (non-alliance) that would take place in this arena with rewards of isk, ships, mods and/or plexs. Would be a fair place to fight and a good place for two pilots to settle their differences without interferance.

Simply, a ship that has a decent tank, average DPS, but once every few minutes or so can send out a pulse of some kind that would decloak cloakys. Maybe the pulse takes out the entire capacitor, or just has a long recharge.

The pulser mod could have a 30km range or something wonderful like that. Maybe it would chance based like jams are, to keep things mixed up.

30km is way to far, anyways most stealth bombers are uncloaking around 30km to drop bombs. Not to mention that if a covert fleet is doing like they should and working like they should you should never know they are coming or have time to set it off. And once the Covert ops blast their target they are off again cloaked no way to probe them, or they have portaled out. So using this to me would be a wast of a slot and waste of capacitor leaving a pilot in a bad situation.

Might be a role for the T2 Tier 2 BC, Super-Heavy-Interdictor. The idea would be to give roaming gangs some kind of defense against random hot dropping. Would need limits on use, such as consuming fuel, disallow in warp, or even change mode such as a triage or siege module does.

New ship concept: Space Superiority Sweeper
Hull: Let's go with Destroyer hulls. In the destroyer family, at least.
Role: Clearing the field of drones, fighters.

This ship would be a T2 destroyer variant, with a role bonus allowing the ship to fit 2-4 large smartbombs. Ship skill bonus to smartbomb range. Cap regen to support firing of said smartbombs. The ship would have no or one turret hardpoint. It would be fast, nimble, but still a destroyer - thus tanking it would be difficult but it has a built in "get away from me" factor due to its area of damage. Flying this ship would be tricky - you have to be aware of the range of your fellow sweepers, and smaller ships to ensure you don't wind up nuking your own fleet mates. Like the Interdictor, this ship class is best utilized in Null - high sec usage is possible, but you are always baiting Concorde if you try it.

Using this ship in groups is also tricky - even if you are tanked for your own damage types, the destroyer hull does not lend itself to easy survivability (unlike disco battleship fleets). Piloting ability (unless CCP adds formations in) is paramount. Listen to the rage of carrier pilots of all types when they watch their fighters pop. This removal of drone/fighter/fighter bomber DPS is the primary role, and the tears of SuperCarrier pilots would be sweet.

A possible secondary role would be the "firewall" concept against missiles, but that's mostly just theory craft. The speed to chase after drones, and knock them from space to reduce damage to your fleet mates is first and foremost your venue for fun and tears. Also hilarious when you see SCs run away from a pack of destroyers that can completely neutralize their ability to do DPS.

Don't know if they can get any better than the Rifter and some of the other t1 ships. So I want to see T3 frigs and BC's. I don't care about BS's as I honestly prefer sub BS ships.

Edit: I like your modular ship idea though, even if some of the subsystems are redundant or far-fetched. I think it would be neat to have one convertable ship that could ice mine for me, then refit to move that ice covertly. Saving me the need to plant exhumers and transports in several locations or dedicate two characters to the job of fueling my w-space POS. Ofc, I could just stop being anal and buy my ice, but where's the fun in that?
