Really CCP, you should be ashamed of yourself... I can understand that you have a technical difficulty. But again you have a DB problem.

I start to wonder, how on earth is it possible that you haven't fixed it yet? what kind of efforts are you guys taking in tackling the problem (except let your customers deal with the problem)? And how did even a version (Incarna) even get deployed if this is the result? You claim that you have a third party to test your software (or atleast, so i've read). How did this go unnoticed???

As paying customers, I believe that you owe us a really good explination!

Most likely because the new code does not take into account all the bugs from the old code.

Fix the game then add content please.

or maybe someone put a period where they should have put a slash..programmers are human beings they are not perfect. And who is to say there isn't an actual team working on fixing the current bug issues? Do you work at CCP do you know for sure that they don't have multiple teams working on multiple aspects of a vast and complicated code? Keyword vast code, have you ever had to debug code that would probably kill half the worlds trees if it were to be printed? There is a lot of work involved it isn't like the server errors say the thing that is causing this error is at this line and number in the code. They have to actually manually look for it fix it, test it in house, test it on a live test server, and hope those tests translate to the main live server. Sometimes fixes actually cause more problems than the thing they fix. It is just how programming anything is, especially video games that have several high level sciences. I think someone divided by zero on the ingame calculator.

Or they could explain what happened and most of the player base wouldn't really understand what happened..

I still wonder why CCP doesn't apologize on the front page? They never stated anything there about these random DB crashes, maybe they don't want that people see their problems? Secondly when do we get some compensation for these problems?

I agree with everything but the last..compensation for less than a collective 24 hours? What kind of compensation are you looking for?

m8, I myself test software. I even fix some bugs from time to time. But an update with a serious bug has been released. If they would have tested properly, then it wouldn't be here. Seccond, we have the right to ask and know. We are paying customers. Would you continue to rent a (complicated) car if it would keep breaking down? Even if it is taht complicated, then wouldn't you want to get a status report?

DB problem is a very broad term. Most of the cluster activity relates to that DB. That's Terabytes of information flowing to and from tens of thousands of players worldwide. It's not a question of "just" fixing it. You can't see these errors without having the active cluster so yes it will be the players that suffer until the "right" fix is issued.

Now, the only explanation we need is that the issue is getting looked in to, as a paying customer I hope that it gets fixed, but it's not the first time that DB glitches occur, and there's always a few ticked off people like you who just vent in the wrong direction, get over it.
