I have been playing Eve for one month and about 5 days now I think.

I haven't actually been able to play about 50% of that time.

The other day I made a comment in a thread about how I probably wont be subbing for the long term because of how shoddy their servers are. Are was jumped on by many a Eve fan boy.

Please tell me, how can you still defend this insult of a games company? I have counted a total of FOURTEEN septate unscheduled down time. Some are only 5 minutes, some have been for 24 hours.

No matter how much time you have spent on this game, you are a fool to keep paying a company like this your money. This is no argument to be had. It's a shocking insult to what seems to be a loyal fan base and I pity each of you that are too addicted to stop paying for their, and all their alt accounts.

This game is poorly designed for new people, and hardly does anything to make me want to keep playing. I am a sci-fi and MMO fanatic, I wish I could love Eve. The core members maybe loyal, but new people like me will never stick around for such a shoddy run game.

5 minute downtimes do not exist, its your internet connection or route to the server
24 hour downtimes do not exist, see above.

perhaps you should cancel your subscription to the internet

ROFL, you haven't been here long have you? i've seen 5 min reboots i've seen 12 hour patch days due to screwing up the server and i watched with the rest of eve last summer as they broke eve for 36 hours straight and then handed out SP as a we're sorry we broke it pay-off, stop being a fanatical fanboy and pull you head out of your ass, at least this guy has figured out he's just throwing money down the drain, you on the other hand are still buying that paper bag full of dog **** soundwave is selling.

Nice to see someone here has a brain.

And if I could prove i'm not an alt, I would. This is my first time playing this game, and it's ben really meh. Believe or not, i'll survive and move on while you still east the **** CCP dumps on you.

While I have seen node crashes, extended downtimes the recent DDOS they took everything down for (and rightly so) I have never seen a 5 min reboot of the cluster ever. It probably takes over 15 mins for reboot of the entire cluster and if its a crash they would need to figure out the crash then try and bring it back up.

Generally I don't see a lot of sustaned issues over long periods of time (patch issues not withstanding). OP taking all over your contributions in consideration....go play in traffic.

Sorry to hear your game time has been interrupted. It's not uncommon for there to be a few server wobbles after a patch (I think the lulzsec attack was an exceptional circumstance).

EVE has never been an 'easy access' game where its all given to you on a plate; that's one of its great attractions to many here. If its not for you Id just accept it and move on.

lmfao.

Man I love fanboys. Brilliant attempt to argue with me! Except, wait! No argument! Just futile, childish insults! Oh the irony. No wonder CCP make money when the attract such gullible nimmwits. Please take your remarks back to the playground kid.

I thought maybe I could provoke a discussion about the lack of a decent service from CCP. Minus a few people that quite easily prove I a right, this is what most of this thread consist of. I do hope a mod see's this a enforce's some sort of smack down. You clearly seem emotionally attached beyond an measure to this game, so hopefully that's an apt punishment for being such a tard.
Y'know, you keep insulting people but the reality is, anyone who doesn't agree with you is labelled a 'fan-boy' and your claims to be wanting to 'provoke a discussion' are non-sense, you just wanted to provoke an argument.

But, whatever, you're leaving, right?

Enjoy where you end up next - but, please don't take CCP up on their future 5-day reactivation passes and feel the need to come back and tell us, again, how crap the game is.

Some of us accept that EvE has problems but, you know what? there's no true alternative so I'd rather have a broken game that's kind of what I want to play, rather than no game at all.

+1, I second this entirely, I took an eight month break last fall and early spring because of personal stuff, and I had told myself I probably would never come back, but after awhile I decided ya know what... bump this, I'm going to resub and ride this ****ing game til the godamn wheels fall off because there's nothing else out there like it, and I'd rather just have my fun and forget the rest.

The game has problems, so do I, I ain't perfect, and neither is the game, so I'll make the best of it, because it's better than all the rest by comparison, since ya know, there's no other game even remotely like it out there yet.

I can understand why some grizzled vets whine so irrationally. They want to see the game like how it was when they first started playing. I can comprehend, I'm a grizzled vet in many games and hate when updates come that change the spirit of the game when I joined.

However when new players whine about somthing I feel no sympathy. They don't know the true spirit of the game, they don't know how to become a good player etc.

im wondering how much of those fourteen crashes you talked about was the scheduled daily downtime, or just your internet connection messing up... i've only seen 4 crashes so far... and none for more then 20 minutes...

I go from towering arrogance to sniveling insecurity at least five times a day. I really don't have time to get involved in emotional roller-coasters involving shame. My ride is rocky enough as it is.

Tell you what, you be ashamed for me, and I'll be neurotic for you.

Ok, so the op is not replying to reasonable replies, is not providing any evidence, while on the other hand people have a) found out that there have been kills every single day and b) said they logged in pretty much daily. He's calling everyone who doesn't agree with him a fanboi. Took me a while to realize after my first serious reply but he's overdoing the flaming part now.

So yeah, decently good troll attempt, got a rise out of many people. On the off-chance this guy is for real, good effing riddance.

Yo're guys, I concede. I lied the servers are NEVER down, the 5+ times in 24 hours on Eve-offline are fake.

I'll go log in a play now.

O WAIT. DOWN AGAIN.

Fanboys, CCP are trolling you so hard. Look at the 5 + pages of rage that they induce, yet you still stick up for them. At least it seems like more and more people are begin to voice how ****ed of they are. But it's ok guys, I know the addiction is hard to deal with.

Its been a bit more frequent... I can say that a year ago this time, I would have told you that the servers never go down and are reliable.

I'm sure they will figure out the current issues... Eventually.

Guess you weren't paying attention last year. Although it is worse now.

So this has been happening since well before I got here?

Honestly, how on earth do you guys put up with this. It's exasperating. I understand you've invested a lot of time here but it's not worth as all you are doing is encouraging this kind of behaviour.

Wasn't a major part of the CSM CCP meeting about increasing the level's of communication? And you guys just let them walk over you.

The best way to deal with these temporary set-backs is to get out of your computer chair...hug your child, mother, significant other, etc. While being careful not to let them notice you are keeping an eye on the server status for Tranquility. Once the server comes up slowly disentangle yourself from said loved one and log back on.

OP, please go back to WoW, roll a 2 button mage and be deluded in thinking you're someone special.

EVE is not a MMO that you can just pick up and run with, the fabled learning curve is very real and very evident from the first week. Furthermore, stuff breaks... especially after patches and expansions are installed. I remember during the entirety of WoW's Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Northrend crashed for days on my server after every patch. Content was literally unplayable. Yea, the downtime sucks, but if you're too impatient to ride out the storm and are going to whine every time a wave splashes on the deck, then biomass your character and leave.

They've been having some server issues lately. I get that. This isn't normal though and I am willing to bet they are trying to fix it.

hey rasket, do you remember posting this **** ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey CCP,

I played for 14 days on a trial, liked the idea behind the game, so brought one month. I will not be subbing again.

In my 3 weeks or so of playing, About 7-8 days of that, the servers have been down. I understand the whole Lulzsec thing wasn't really your fault, but I have never in my life experienced so much downtime in a game. Moreover, the communication is pretty appalling.

Rather than make a QQ thread I thought i'd just leave my feedback here, and why you lost this new subscriber. You're game isn't that good that you can afford to ignore talking to us about the insulting downtime.
