I've been playing around with EFT and a Tengu fit. I see fits on BClinic that show 4 Caldari Navy BCU's for DPS. I've been trying to figure out which skills I need to get to L5 to be able to fit these on a Tengu. I always come up 3% short on CPU. However if I choose the "All L5" skills option in character selection, The 4 CN BCU can fit with a few CPU to spare.

My chars current CPU based skills are HERE

What skills do I need to get to L5 to fit 4 CN BCU on a Tengu?

Here is the fit I am working on.

[Tengu, Tengu]
Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System
Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System

Ballistic Deflection Field II
Photon Scattering Field II
Heat Dissipation Field II
Shield Boost Amplifier II
10MN Afterburner II
Medium Shield Booster II

Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Scourge Fury Heavy Missile

Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Medium Warhead Flare Catalyst I

Tengu Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer
Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node
Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir
Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay
Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst

I know I need to change the rigs a bit for additional DPS as well. I am primarily concerned with the CN BCU fitting issue atm. The shield fits are also not always the same as I do know I have to Rat fit them per mission requirements

Weapon Upgrades to 5 should do the trick. If not, you need to train up Launcher Rigging. Those are the only two CPU-related skills I see that are relevant here.

Ah yes that fixes it.

One curiosity about EFT. Noticed with my limited API EFT shows me already having Weps Upgrade at L5 already. I currently have it at L4. Wonder why theres a discrepancy with it...

Anyway, thanks!

Yep, Launcher rigging is the one you want, or you can just use a KTA100, lowers launcher cpu 3%, implant slot 7, on my toon's if I drop launcher rigging to 2 it fits so should be a quick train.

You don't have to use T2 hardeners or SBA. You can save a good bit of CPU by either user faction or t1/meta without too much of a performance loss.

After flying 1000s of missions in a Tengu, can i suggest you try a rigor 2 over the flare rig, it makes a huge difference when useing fury missiles..

Also another quick fix for the cpu is, try a pith c-type em hardner..
Gives you more em resist and saves a nice chunk of cpu and cap..

1 more thing, rapid launch 5 should be hi-priority in your skill plan, again its a skill that makes a big + to your dps in a tengu

I never had any problems fiting a tengu. Maybe you should get both WU and AWU to lvl5 before going on with any other skills. Even though these skills are in gunnery, they also work on launchers :)

Also do train launcher rigging 4 ASAP - besides decreasing launcher rigs CPU penalty, it also gives you an option to use t2 launcher rigs which are pretty good.

By the way, if you want to squeeze every bit of dps out of the tengu I would recommend using Ballistic Loading Accelerator II rig since it has better RoF bonus than CN BCU so you get a good RoF boost even with 4 BCU.

I would actually suggest not doing that, the ballistic loading accerlerator II may give more DPS, but T2 Rigor will provide a significantly more effective DPS. So he can put to use more of what he has against his targets, which I imagine will be of more use.

As for the rigs, there's a lot of arguments about them (with each side knowing they are right). The four main recommendations you'll see are:
2x T2 rigors & 1x T1 rigor
2x T2 rigors & 1x T2 flare
1x T2 bay loading accelerator & 1x T1 rigor
1x T2 bay loading accelerator & 2x T1 flares
Honestly, you won't go wrong with any of the combinations. Which works best depends on the specific rats you are fighting and the ammo you are using. If you are using T1 or faction ammo on the frigs and cruisers or are up against a lot of battleships in the mission, then radius is not too much of a concern and the BLA comes more into play. If you are against faster rats then flares come in handy, as they do in PVP. With the first two combos you can likely even take on frigates with your Furies and not have to worry about swapping ammo even for them (though it would be a quicker kill if you did).
With heavier tanks, a Tengu can take longer to deal with webbers so the BLA is the winner. More reliance on a speed tank and killing frigs fast becomes essential, so either swapping ammo or loading up with rigors makes more sense.
But again, you won't do wrong with any of the fits.
