So I am in a small WH corp, mostly alts and casual gamers, and we have become interested in taking our phat WH lewts and purchasing a few fleets of PVP boats and running out to known space and picking a fight. Since I am the only one in the group who is not a complete care bear (I have lived in nul sec alliances and done fleet warfare, the rest of them are miners or purely mission/sleeper site runners) I have been tasked with coming up with a list of ships we should aim for. Was wondering if I can get input from others on what is a good set up for a five man gang lookin for a fight, and if we should waste our time in low sec or just go straight to nul.

My ideas thus far:

1: Falcon, Ashimmu, cynnabal, onyx, hurricane/harbinger
2: falcon, onyx, drake, drake, sentinel
3: Tengu, crow, ashimmu, cynnabal, drake

Not sure on this as I have never tried to design a gangso I am just tryingto think of things that would be good. Obviously these would be fleets to use once we are confortable, will prolly start with T1 ships for our first couple dust ups, but basically we are looking to take good ships and risk them being blown up in the name of fun. ;) Any advice would be superb. Most of the guys havelarge amount of caldari skills, with a few having amarr/minmatar skills. Mine can fly every T1 ship and quite a few caldari T2. But we are looking for ships to train towards to make a good small gang warfare fleet to go pester people and get in a good dustup!

It really comes down to what your corp mates can fly and where you fly. Overall I'm a fan of BC's because you just can't match their performance to price ratio with any other ship class.

BC's have the widest range of engagement capabilities of any other ship class in the game and are quite affordable to lose.

For a small roaming gang, I'd go with either Shield Canes or Nano Drakes or a mix of both.(if mixing canes & drakes probably best to go Arti's on the canes) The Falcon is useful, but the heavy dictor is situational IMO, unless he's one of the alts as you can always just set up anchored bubbles if you intend to gate camp in null.

Yeah, I'd suggest some kind of initial tackle and then just a bunch of Drakes, especially since y'all are relatively new to PvP. Have someone in an interceptor or cheap tackle frig to land the initial point and then have the Drakes warp in on the tackler, with their own tackle/ewar too.

Get some kinda cloaky recon to get point on ratters or something, then jump the drakes in.

Try something like

Rapier tackle/probing, 3 drakes 1 scimitar to keep range mwd fitt.
Rapier/inty/dramiel, 2 cynabals, curse 1 td, scimitar.
Onyx, 3 drakes full tank gank(small shield drones), basilisk. Camp setup?
3 dramiel mix point scram web, sentinel mwd 3 td's, keres mwd damps. Fast gang null sec.
Arazu, Rapier both got shield drones to rep your 3 bombers. Works great in whs!

its your choice really, depends on what you want, low sec null wh. what you wanna fight. The bigger the ships you bring the more and bigger targets you get. Most important is to find something that suits your corp skill base and also how fun you think it is! =)

Perfect.

BCs; The corner stone of any decent gang.

Throw in a t2 ship here or there to help your focus, a fast tackler, a logistic or recon add nice diversity without getting too specific (and therefore not to rely on the specific pilots)

You'll want to make sure your expensive ship (logi, recon) has an experienced player flying it as those ships are pretty fragile and likely to be primary.

You always need more falcons.

To be honest the lack of experience in a gang with a billion isk worth of ships worries me.

Nano drakes and if at all possible include a nano lach and rapier. Falcon as well if you want, however some potential enemies that knows you have a falcon will reconsider engaging unless they have a blob backing them up. Also include light tackle unless you will be going gcc in low sec.

This fleet comp allows you to fight outnumbered and outclassed and its a heck of a lot of fun too.

Also if its small gang fights you are looking for leave the Curse at home, its pew repellent.
