ensure that nothing but vanity items will ever be sold in the NeX store.

I made the following post in a previous thread and overnight I decided that I would like to see what the forum user base thought about it as I have seen it mentioned by a few other pilots during the recent rage session

CCP could have just increased the sub price if they needed development monies. Increasing the subscription price of their flagship product is completely acceptable for a gaming company that is trying to expand their market share. I believe that many would have accepted this if that was what was communicated from the beginning. People spend a hell of a lot more on drinking or other hobbies in a day much less a month.

Slade

If you respond please list...

1) If you would accept an increase.

2) What sub option do you currently pay by.

3) How much of an increase you would be willing to accept.

4) How many accounts you would stop subbing due to the increase.

In conclusion I would also hope that if CCP's other games end up being successful that CCP would honor their initial strong, loyal and dedicated player base by reverting to old subscription prices in time; but as a corporation I could see CCP deciding to keep the increased prices.

1) No.

2) PLEX.

3) $****.

4) See 2.

CCP doesn't intend to introduce non-vanity MT. Pointless topic is pointless.

7 days new.

They could be 6 days new, or 5 days new, but not 8.

If it were 7 days old, then im headed in the wrong direction on my timeline.

MT for vanity is a great idea an I am willing to pay someone else's money for that instead.

Why should I, or anyone for that matter, pay more so that CCP can further overextend themselves?

Please understand something - no bargain you make, no offer, no threat, can ever FORCE CCP to legally commit to making a change or preventing a change to the game in the future. That is not how a business is run; it would tie their hands and open them up to multi-million dollar lawsuits. We already got the best thing we can realistically hope for - a simple, soft commitment to no game-breaking non-vanity items in the NEX store.

I suggest taking CCP at its word. If they break it someday down the line, just QUIT. This isn't a democracy, and it isn't a tyranny. You can stay, you can go, you can come back. It's a simple business relationship based on trust and money. You trust them, give them money. You don't trust them, stop giving money. Open a savings account.

Either that or you're foreign but yeah you said no less than 7 days, if you had said no more than 7 it would be correct Smile

1) If you would accept an increase. No I wouldnt, mainly because I dont give two flying ****s about the vanity store items. So why should I pay more to play just to avoid having something in the game that has zero effect on me. Do you work for CCP, cause that sounds like one of their off the wall stupid ideas?

2) What sub option do you currently pay by. Month to month

3) How much of an increase you would be willing to accept. Read my response to 1)

4) How many accounts you would stop subbing due to the increase. I'd either drop from 4 to 2, or would sub to another game.

1) Yes on my main
2) CC renewal every 6 months
3) $5 on average of 3 accounts. There should be discounts for first year. Further discounts for a non-transferable account after the 1st or 2nd account would be a good idea. Then you could encourage more multiple accounts, but it couldn't be used to just train a toon for sale.
4) Probably none, but I definitely wouldn't start any new ones.

So subscription fees would go higher, and then in 12 months non-vanity MTs hit TQ just like planned... where would you be then?

If you haven't noticed... CCP word doesn't mean anything.

I would if the increase wasn't more than 50%, and I would dearly up to 100% if that meant better hardware in the background to decrease lag.

2) What sub option do you currently pay by.

PLEX paid for by , monthly, or if I expect to be hooked longer by quarter- to full-year.

See above - 50% without a problem, more if I saw the difference in EVE.

I only have one account.

So basically, I feel the current suscription is dead cheap for what I get out of EVE, and if a sub-increase meant that CCP existed much longer, I would gladly pay. I will also run amok in the NeX-store when the next batch of vanity items arrives...

I say sub increase to $25 for a "main account" then the $15 for each subsequent account (i.e. monitor by same credit/debit card).

I should not have used the word ensure for the reasons you pointed out above, but the point of this discussion is that it was hypothesized recently that MT were introduced to increase revenue for their market share increasing efforts. If a sub increase satisfactorily increases their revenue then it should greatly decrease the chances that they go back on their word.

As it has been pointed out below CCP's word is a little flimsy to say the least on this topic.

If you are so hurt by CCP adjusting their game against what they have said in the past then you need to live life a little more because that is how life works, things change so get used to it.

Then leave already as you are already paying for them to "over extend" themselves.

The discussion was about avoiding the introduction of non-vanity items Wink I do not work for CCP so this makes it my own off the wall idea.

What they said is they will only introduce vanity items through NeX. It still leaves the door open to them in the future for non-vanity items via a different outlet.

Furthermore, why the hell should I leave?
