Hi Guys,

Just got into L3's and have been using a thorax for L2's and tagging along L3's and L4's (and almost getting my a** handed to me quite a few times in the process)

I've been thinking about a myrm loadout to make sure i can take a bit more of a pummeling than my previous glass cannon Very Happy

Just looking for some suggestions for how to improve this, for example i know the rigs are expensive but is it worth the benefit of being able to pulse the armour repair and be cap stable or drop a hardener, add another rep and loose the rigs. With this setup if i pulse the ab i'm cap stable at 34% at the moment.

Looks alright. Since the Myrm doesn't get a bonus from medium hybrids you might want to consider getting medium projectile. Being able to choose your damage type is means that, on average, you'll do more damage in missions.

I'm doing Lvl3's and 4's in my Myrm, and I shield tank it.

As noted: it has no gun bonuses: so feel free to use Projectiles or even Lasers.

As for your armor tank: you have hardeners against 3 damage types - seems like overkill.
Just go to Eve survival and tank against two of the damage types.

Currently you use 4 modules to increase your armor resistances, and I'm pretty sure if you just used 3 energized adaptive membranes, you'd actually end up with better resists.

For my shield tanks, I just pick the strongest incoming damage type, and fit an active hardener against that. Often the 2nd strongest damage type is going up against what I have stronger resists for (example, 60% thermal, 30% kinetic incoming damage, and shield resits against kinetic are much better than thermal) - and I find an omni (since it benefits both) + active (for the strongest incoming type) seems to work best.
I assume the same goes for armor.

Once you drop the hybrids, you can drop the cap rechargers.

Also, why so many hammerhead IIs?

I include 2 Berserkers or Wasps, so I can launch 2 heavies, 2 mediums, and 1 light (this gets the most DPS a bandwidth limit of only 75)

My myrm fitting:
5 misc guns (lasers or projectiles)
1 drone link augmentor or NOS
2 meta whatever large shield extenders
1 10 MN AB
2 Mission specific shield hardeners

3 meta whatever power diagnostic systems (sometimes 4)
1 meta whatever damage control
1 tracking enhancer (sometimes I drop this one)
1 shield power relay (sometimes I drop this one)

No cap issues, except when using lasers and the shield power relay + multifreq ammo - its still cap stable with standard M.

It's looking good! For the tag alongs though you could try going for a bit more damage, as hopefully your not tanking the entire place, just something that allows you to take some heat. Maybe try something like:

6x 250mm Compressed Coil Gun I (upgrade to meta 4 if you have the cash or t2 if you have the skills)

1x10mn Afterburner
1xTracking Computer (Speed Script)
3xCap Recharger II

1x Medium Armor Repairer II
1x Thermic Hardener II
1x Kinetic Hardener II
1x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
2x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II

1x PG Rig (Hybrids ><)
1x Aux Nanopump rig
1x whatever.

Drones to taste.

Just for something to think about on the tag alongs really.

Nice fit i agree but,

You are new as you stated so your skills aren't all maxed so I like your attention to your defenses (armor modules, rigs)and advice you to stick to hardeners untill you maxed those skills and 2 mission specific hardeners are good enough for lvl3.

The myrm alrdy has a repair bonus and you'll be better of with med CCC's (cheaper also) and fit an additional repper for the heavier tanking jobs/assisting lvl4,with regular tanking you can fit any of the 2 dronemods in the midslots or other helpfull modules like a target painter/sensor booster etc and keep up a good cap.

For the highslots, you can just fit anything since you have no gunbonus but not at the expense of cap/cpu/pg, a tractor/salvager can be handy in some situations.

Drones r your own choice but having a couple large ones makes you more familiar in using m and when not to use m ;).

Happy flying

Here's my Mission Running Myrm. I freaking love this beast. I can tank every LVL3 with ease, including blockade, and the 4 Battleships in the Angels Bonus pocket. I also run 4's with a friend, and have done C2 Sleeper sites with this fit.

It's cap stable without the AB on. Or you can drop the Omni and be cap stable with everything running. Dual rep is overkill for almost all LVL3 missions but I don't like swapping lots of stuff around. Hardeners get swapped based on mission.

…or you could just passive-shield tank it and sleep through all L3s and L4s. It was a while since I used Myrms for missions, but I seem to recall that there were some fitting issues if you went all-out with that kind of shield tank, so it might leave you a bit ilght on the armaments side, or you can scale back the tank for some heavier guns.

Also, as others have mentioned, there's very little reason not to go for projectiles on the Myrm if you have the skills — they much more versatile than hybrids could ever hope to be right now.

Well you could, but if he just started LVL 3's he probably would have to train up the shield skills. I am in the same boat. I can do a mean armor tank now, but I need to train still for a shield tank.
