This is absurd. I understand clearly about the controversy involving MT's, but throwing tantrums about not having "spinning ships?" Seriously??

If those brats, and the definition fits, want unimmersive boring space games, they should go play 'Dark Orbit' or some FB knockoff version.

The idea that CCP is even considering re-adding the spinning ships kiddie version of EVE would be a game-breaker. I enjoy games that evolve with technology and have immersion, not boring kiddie games trying to pretend to be a space mmo.

I'm sure the flamers and trolls who threw tantrums would say good; and that's fine with me because if CCP is going to keep catering to the thick-headed gamers who can't evolve, then EVE's days are numbered.

hi, you must be new, if you log on with CQ on it sucks, isnt as functional as old hanger and is nearly impossible to run multiclient.

turning it "off" gives you a fail picture of a door and is hardly functional at all

old hanger
WORKED, Looked GOOD, and was perfect in multiclient situations. so why remove it? a simple button to get into CQ is all people wanted.
its not a tantrum, and we arnt kids, we are people who have something called common sense.

your the child for just accepting it and bending over to take it

Are you a simpleton? No one cares about the spinning, what they care about is the loss of functionality that the hangar offered and having hat replaced with a pointless and tedious sub-par Second Life clone.

spinning was nice though, old hanger was perfect for needs of players, ship spinning was a past time for many CQ and incarna was meant to be another for those with not enough time to do that next mission or just wanted a break, now honestly i alt tab because CQ is boring and nonfunction also laggy, and picture of door is.... just... ugh..

old hanger, better yet update hanger gfx o.0 maybe so we can see the balcony and CQ from the hanger view.

I actually don't care about or miss ship spinning, (you can still do it in space.) But I think it should be easy enough to add it back and I wonder why they have dragged their feet on this. The idea me and many other people had was to just have a button on the balcony that launches / loads a "camera drone" as they are called, to spin arround the ship at your control.

This is healthy for CCP, since it's the only real 'GOOD' MMO developer that strongly interacts with its client base.

The people who did nothing and said nothing are simply ignorant/unaware of the long-standing relationship CCP has with its player base.

The people who 'threw a tantrum' but are still monitoring the news are the real fan base who care about EVE online and its progression, and want to keep CCP committed to maintaining its communication with its player base and keep it one of the best MMO's on the market.

The people who parked their egos on the forums and railed against the 'children throwing a tantrum' simply come off as the kind of blind loyalty that don't read the fine print for what they're being billed for, or care for the quality; the kind of "fans" other MMO's have been milking for years.

Edit: the real issue came from a serious lapse and mismanagement of communication between CCP's 'development plan' and the players' expectations that caused a breach in trust that has been slowly growing over the past several years. Many of the people who canceled their subs are carefully watching, and I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few will come back in the end once CCP recommits and slides back the curtain a bit.

CCP being a good is a relative comment. personally i think they fail in many aspects in this game which forces them to find other sources of revenue ( EX micro-transactions). a simple overhaul of the tutorials, such as gating the interface through the base tutorial, or better race videos that show off the style of ship and primary weapons/tanking method, just to name a few, would help massively in getting people started, and thus increase the player base and revenue. even blizzard, king of riches and money pools/vaults, acknowledged that the starting experience is key. hate em if you will, but the argument stands the same.

onto the topic at hand, there are three kinds of fans i have found in this game.
the first is your typical veteran elitist: this group is the minority of minorities, and only railed against CCP cause they thought they might have to spend money to stay competitive. they didn't care about any economic impact, or even the social impact, and just didn't like there position being threatened.

second is the die hard fans: these are the people who have played the game for a while, maybe even on and off. they railed against CCP because they truly feared what MAY come, and need assurance it was not going to happen. this player truely loves the interaction between players in all levels of game play.

Third is pretty much everyone else who plays, people who honestly did not care where the micro transaction went. they might have kept playing, they may have stopped but it wouldnt have been a big deal.
